dating or marrying to high income people

What does she do OP? Pharmacist is a good career.

Is this a stupid comment or what? The OP said nothing about her look, only that she is five years older than he is. Perhaps he is not shallow.

Did you look at Roger Federer's wife who is also 3+ years older than he is? Did you see her pictures? She is so average and yet she is married to probably the coolest guy on earth.

High income surgeon is not that big of a deal. I know a lot of techies with a lot more ka-ching than surgeons (aka tech stock options).

You are too thick to think that a guy dating a woman who earns 10 TIMES the money he does is NOT with her for the money and even more dumb to think that a woman (if beautiful) and high earning would rather be married to a man who earns as much as she does. I am sure that is her ideal but she is settling for the pharmacist and the pharm wants the easy life.

No idea what you’re saying.
But my wife makes way more than me and I’m with her for the money. She looks average. Im pretty average but the better looking.
Most marriages end up out of convenience anyway. Sometimes inertia takes over and you’ll just never leave. Think the older generation. Most divorced people I know that remarried are in a similar place as before. We, as humans, are not meant to stay with the same person forever

Going by your logic, the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, would marry someone who has just as much money as he does. Well, he married a doctor who is so average looking and does not make a lot of money. That shows your logic is just flat out wrong.

If I am a high income woman, I would choose a good looking younger pharmacist over an average looking high income doctor/lawyer anytime. Pharmacist is a good career. I already have a lot of money. I don't need more money.

Exactly what I just said! Is english your first language? Not sure why you couldn't understand what I said. No, most marriages are not out of convenience. Every person in my family married for love and the ones I know that did are not happy. Its no way to live life but for people like you with dollar signs in their eyes I guess materialism is all you live for.

Nuh uh Zuckerberg married his college sweetheart. They didnt meet at the height of his career. Now if he was rich and single then I am sure he would meet other tech ceo's who were in the same income bracket as he. I do know high income older women who are supporting their lower income bf or husband. The bf or husband eventually uses the women making 10x the money and stays only for that and they become lazy. It is sick and very cuck like of them to depend on a woman.

In ideal world, the income difference shouldn't be a big deal. But as this thread has demonstrated, antiquated gender norms are alive and well. You have to decide whether or not this is something that will bother you. I think that this is something that still bothers a lot of men, including men that would consider themselves modern and progressive.

When I married my dh, my income was easily 10x higher than his. I was in sales and he worked for a non-profit. I made more than enough money to support myself and future family- his income wasn't important to me. What was important was common values, interests, mutual attraction, etc. If I limited myself to men that made comparable incomes or higher, my dating pool would've been tiny and I would've missed out on a great guy.

Exactly PP, $ does not matter. That is how DH and I handle it. Best to work as a team. One's $ is the family money.

Her clock is ticking, you apparently meet her needs as a spouse and she will have the financial advantage/power.

I'm not saying this is impossible but it's still an extremely unlikely scenario. How many 33 year old women will be making 800k a year? 400k I can buy. But 800k? And up to 1.2 with bonus. Where is this? It has to be somewhere like New York with the finance industry, highly unlikely it's DC. Why I bring this up is because that woman is living in an extremely different environment than the pharmacist making 120k. Her expectations are different. She may be feeling the biological clock ticking but she's also surrounded by high performing men and high performing women tend to go for high performing men. She should be snapped up by someone of similar professional background. If she's good looking with a huge income, there's something wrong with her if she's not already claimed by another man. If she's ugly, then are you with her for her money?

+ 2.

I was thinking her attractive meter is low low. Clock is ticking. She wants to have a chance of better looking offsprings.

I know a couple who married because the husband felt the wife was good breeding stock - his words not mine. He’s the one with the high income. She loves him but he is not terrible into her. They do have good looking smart kids, so there’s that.

Beauty is subjective. Roger Federer’s wife is much better looking than him.

Or you just have to be Chelsea Clinton and let mommy and daddy get you a job where you get paid to do absolutely nothing.
