Let's face it, accompanying one's spouse on a business trip is rarely as much fun as it should be. Melania knows that and thus prefers to use that time to support her son, because the trip falls during a time when he is in school. In many ways Melania is a typical loving mother, always putting her child first. I would likely do the same, and I respect her for that.

I also respect our First Lady for asserting herself, and demonstrating her independece and self respect. Mad props for that. (I wish she could throw her DH's clothing out on the WH lawn.)

Ya sure. That’s why she was originally planning to go. Makes sense. It’s their anniversary, too.

Methinks it has more to do with her utter embarassment that the world knows Trump was chasing porn stars during their marriage and being pissed at the man who says “nobody has more respect for women, than me.”

I don't feel bad for her. She knew she was marrying a sketchy guy with multiple bankruptcies and divorces and did it anyway. Her cyberbullying campaign is so tone deaf considering her husband's behavior. She cost us taxpayers 100$ mn dollars because she refused to move Barron to DC and live in the White House before the school year ended the way every other family in recent history has done. And she lets her husband attack immigrants like they are the devil besides being an immigrant (and possibly an illegal immigrant). But other than that, she's just swell.

Melania is really getting a raw deal here. First, she signed up to be a trophy wife and to silently tolerate her husband's infidelities without literally the entire world knowing about it.

First, he tells her he's going to run for president (and lose). So she's like ... "ok...." Then she has to go on tv and defend him after the pussy-grabber tape, and make speeches in her second language that were written by someone else and then get laughed at. Then she has to do at least what, 1/3 of the work of being first lady, a job she has no interest in whatsoever. NOW she is being humiliated in front of the entire world, AGAIN, and it has only been ONE FREAKING YEAR.

She should just walk out.
