It’s been only 2 years but I feel checked out.

There’s no one particular reason. My husband is faithful and loving. He is a good man.

I don’t particularly feel accepted or loved by my in laws. We also disagree on...everything.

I think Trump is evil they think he’s saving America.

I feel bad about social justice issues they think social activism is being whiny.

I am worried ahout sustainable practices and the environment they think climate change is fake news.

I think Meghan Markle s gorgeous they are racist.

I want to learn and grow they laugh at higher education.

There are many things I love about my husband but he...agrees with his family on most of the above.

I don’t want to be a snob but I hate being the smartest person in the room. I feel suffocated.

How can I recover?

Well you really do not have to worry about that one! Maybe having the biggest ego in the room.

You may have TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and the secondary anxiety is causing your lack of connection with your husband.

Yeah, I thought that was weird. My Dad likes Trump and totally drinks the kook aid. But we just don’t talk about politics. I can do that with a parent. But I’d never be able to do that with my spouse. Even if we never talked about politics, it’s still a major difference in values. I could never share my life or raise a child with someone who’s values were so different from mine.

OP-didn’t you know his values before marrying him?

She didn't say she was the smartest person in the room because she was liberal. She just said she was the smartest person in the room. It may be independent of her political persuasion. Secondly, a liberal or anybody can be open-minded about people having different viewpoints than them, but it doesn't mean that they want to spend time with them or be married to them. I think everyone should be able to worship or not as he or she pleases, whether that means being Muslim or athiest, or evangelical Christian. It does not mean I want to be buddies with any of them if their values are different than mine. I still think they should be allowed to practice how they want (if they aren't hurting anybody). See the difference?

The biggest joke is on these pseudo-"liberals" hijacking the word and twisting its meaning to suit them. They are everything but "liberal".

Tell us about the new/hot guy at work who has made you suddenly aware that you were never sexually attracted to your husband

Call me narrow minded if you want but Being racist and thinking climate change is fake news is unacceptable for me. It has nothing to do with political viewpoints.

So stop deluding yourself that you are the smartest person in the room. You sound like a proper idiot, to be frank.
