Stewart is not mentioned in the entire article. Even if it was "his baby" at this point there is too much public backlash for him to support Louis without loss to his career. I think his earlier comments said it much more clearly. As Mara Wilson said, "This one was not a surprise." |

Hindsight is 20/20. I'm not defending CK. This was in 2016. Stewart wasn't dismissing the abuse allegations. He said he didn't discuss this on his show in conjunction with CK's appearance on the daily show in 2015 and that he hadn't heard Jen kirkman's podcast, didn't see the tweets or the gawker article. Gawker posted about ck in 2012. Kirkman's podcast was in 2015 and she later deleted it: http://flavorwire.com/533257/jen-kirkman-clarifies-comments-that-may-or-may-not-have-been-about-louis-c-k Stewart was saying that he had been out of the world of stand up for a while. He hosted the daily show from 1999-2015. To write for that show his media diet was CNN, Fox News etc. so I believe him when he said he wasn't aware of it. Remember he defended Anthony weiner when his pix were released b/c they knew each other quite well. He did not pull any punches on his show when it was quickly revealed that weiner was not hacked and was sending these photos. So yes, Ck is a scum bag, but he also seems to be a cagey scum bag. Amy poheler raves about him too. My guess is that where, when, and who he sexually harassed women was calculated. |

Trolling means to be deliberately provocative. Jon Stewart said, "I didn't know about the sexual assault but it's important..." So yes, you are trolling by putting up a purposefully misleading title to your thread. |

So no, I'm not being deliberately provocative by pointing out his statement which many, many people found objectionable. He dismissed the sexual assaults out of hand. Even after they had emerged and when confronted. You seriously need to recalibrate your compass of what you get outraged about. |

Trolls prey on people's emotions and try to start arguments. You need to calibrate your language and actually base things on fact. Everyone knows that Jon Stewart is an egotistical jerk. He's the guy who thinks he's always the smartest person in the room. And he's the guy who defends bros before hoes.
I suspect Stewart has his own skeletons in the closet. He's certainly not as clean cut as Colbert. Not a chance. |
