I was waiting and waiting for an order from Rack--the website said the order had a shipping label but there was never any new info on where the package was. I called and they cancelled that order (said it was "lost" and I had to re-order the items). They did give me free two day shipping on the re-order.
A week later (yesterday) the original package showed up and now I guess I have to deal with that...not impressed. Why're also annoying because if you opt out of their marketing emails they won't send you emails about your order, you have to go on the website to check the status. |
| It is because some of the online orders ship from their stores...meaning nordie associate pulls item off the floor and boxes it. Warehouse orders get to you quicker. |
| Yes, their shipping is awful because items sometimes ship from stores and not warehouses. It has taken up to three weeks for me to get something before. If you need it fast, pay for overnight. |
| I agree. You’d think somewhere as expensive as Nordstrom would get with the program. I ordered something 5 days ago and they are still “processing” it. Has not shipped. My other order was guaranteed three days ago, and yet every day the estimated delivery date changes. |
| I order from them frequently. Never had an issue with receiving orders, but returns take a month+. |
I often find when this happens, it is likely because they are using the drop-ship method of fulfillment. |
Sorry, forgot the link: https://www.nordstrom.com/browse/about/drop-ship-program |
| Nordstrom doesn't have a centralized warehouse, things ship from individual stores. That's why, when you order 5 different things, you may get 5 boxes from all across the country. |
| No way, Nordstrom is the best. But it’s not Amazon in terms of speed. |
| I used to shop there often (mostly online). Shipping is meh but I’m even more down on their pared down inventory. They used to be my go-to for dresses and shoes. Not anymore. |
Return in person. Nordstrom in Montgomery mall. |
| Guys, retail is experiencing staffing shortages, just like restaurants. I’m sure you can wait for your elastic waisted pants a few more days. |
| I love Nordstrom and haven't had this problem. The only thing that has happened a couple of times is that I get a message a few days after the purchase that the item I bought is out of stock. |
+1 Give companies (end more importantly, the few workers they still have) some grace. Don’t people remember pre-Amazon Prime when it took easily 2 weeks to get anything?? Jcrew in the early 2000s took easily 10 business days. |
But that's EVERY store. |
