Overnight oats with peanut butter, and either bananas or maple syrup. You can eat it cold, or warm it up in the microwave if you prefer hot oats.
Toast an English muffin. While it's toasting, scramble an egg in a ramekin or small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir the egg and add some cheese (sliced or grated). Microwave in 10-second intervals until the egg is cooked through and the cheese is melted. Transfer the egg to the english muffin. The whole process takes about 2 minutes. Whole wheat toast, topped with any of the following: -Peanut butter and sliced banana -Avocado with a squeeze of lime and sprinkle of salt -Sliced tomato and provolone (pop the whole thing under a broiler for a few seconds to melt the provolone) -Ricotta and a sprinkle of salt |
None of those sound fast lol! Op I'd get some kind bars and yogurt tubes. Kind bars are really good and they are filling and easy to eat quickly. Same with yogurt tubes and string cheese. I also like the pp who suggested a tortilla with shredded cheese (skip the beans!). |
See, I think we all have different perceptions of "fast". If I can get it from fridge to table in 5 minutes then I think that is fast. And for each of the breakfasts listed I can do just that, with no prior prep, and have time to make coffee for myself! |
We do and have gotten a ton of use. I have friends who don't use their though. |
| We aren't big on breakfast. All I can manage is coffee. The kid gets at best toast with PB or cold cereal. Somehow we survive. |
well, that was super useful. |
Well op wanted fast breakfast for kids and also mentioned that sometimes they'd eat in the car. I don't think your breakfast examples would work since most of them require use of the stove, multiple dishes (which would need washed or be left in the sink all day yuck!) and more than one item to be eaten. A quick breakfast is something like an uncrustable, or a bagel, or toaster waffles etc. Your breakfast suggestions sound nice, but those would take my child a long time to eat and would require a sit down at the table meal. Op specifically said there was no time for that. |

To me the easiest and fastest car food is something like a Kind bar or Larabar. Prepackaged, essentially. It's messy but I occasionally make pb-sandwiches out of graham crackers to snack on.
Get the whole grain or flaxseed or even extra-protein toaster waffles. |

Oscar Meyer protein packs with cubes of ham/turkey/chicken, cheese and nuts. Bottled water.

On in toast actually is a good breakfast. And most cereals are decent too. Why overcomplicate things. |
| I made a copycat Starbucks egg white spinach feta wrap for my son today. It was super easy and he loved it. I'm thinking of making a bunch tomorrow and freezing them for weekday breakfast to go. |
