| Rest In Peace. In this day and age, 75 is too young. |
|
A lovely and genuine man. I'm happy he was around to be honored in the Ben's Chili Bowl mural last month. May he rest peacefully, and healing wishes to his family and friends.

Agreed Grew up with him on the news |
| Oh, I loved him so much. RIP to the best news anchor ever. |
PPyou summed it up beautifully. He seemed so vibrant. RIP |
Yes, vibrant! Perfect word for him. We just moved back here, but I used to watch him years ago when we lived here the first time. He had such a bright spirit. I'm so sorry he's gone. |
I had no idea! How sad! |
He was awesome. And that clip is Washington gold, thank you. |
| I had the pleasure of being acquainted with Jim and he was as kind, smart and funny as anyone I've ever known. Just a great guy and I really thought he'd live forever. RIP |
Is this why he left? Do we know what kind? Sorry, I'm sad too...but also curious. |
| So sorry to hear this. He was the best. |
| I've only lived in DC for 12 years but quickly grew to love Jim Vance. We watched him every evening. His candor was refreshing and spot-on. From everything I've heard and read about him over the years, it seems like he lived a full life. |
So sad. He was my introduction to DC and the US when I moved here. |
He was a cocaine addict years ago; I believe he was fired for it (rehired afterwards). Not trying to tarnish his name, this is pretty common knowledge. |
I'm another person who grew up with his news reports. Very sad news. So sorry he's passed on. He will be missed so much. |
