What is your HHI, because that will determine what funding is available to him?

I i get a 50k bonus most years (27k net) and do a lump sum. I'm doing virginia prepaid. Will pay for room and bord out of pocket as we go. Only need to save 120k total for both kids for prepaid. Halfway there.

Who know what it's gonna be when time comes. Self-employed.

We save $1,000 per month per kid, starting around age 2. Kids are 7, accounts each have about $75k. At some point, we will stop funding the 529. HHI around $250k.

$1500 per month total for two kids.

Single mom here, but I hope dad is saving too. I save $300/mo plus another $5-700 at year-end if I have it.

We are now doing $1400 - $1000 for our 15 year old and $400 for our 11 year old. We have only been saving this much for about a year though. The kids have $84k and $57k respectively.

$400/month/kid. (2 kids.) Prior to our second's birth the whole amount went into our first's account.

You've obviously been saving for more than a year if you contribute $1000 per month and already have $84K

I think PP meant they increased the monthly contributions, but not that they had just started contributing at all.

We only do $250/mo per kid (ages 4 and 1), but hope to increase that over time.
Grandparents don't have too much money but prioritize education so they generously give lump sums occasionally.... $1k here... $1k a few years later...
Also stash bonuses in there sometimes so have added $15k to our 4-yr-old's account that way.

About $500/kid/month, plus each has one year of prepaid.

$150 a month per kid.

We are still trying to pay off our own student loans- with the goal being to finish those off before we start paying for our children. We are also still not fully satisfied with the amount we are saving for our retirement.
