What to do when you don't like the smell of your SO

You married him because he is a good man and companion and has a great personality so it's not likely you will ever enjoy his smell - it's a pheromone thing, which is just about mating and primal attraction.

Are you or have you been sexually attracted to him despite this issue? I don't know that there's much you can do besides focus on the positive things in your relationship.

PP here -just read your follow-up that he's amazing in bed. So I would just keep on keeping on. It sounds like you're able to enjoy your life together despite the smell issue.

I get it, OP. Smell is actually a dealbreaker for me. You didn't realize how much it matters to you. Y

Your husband is great otherwise, so you must convince him to wear fragrance. Tell him any white lie you can--find a fragrance you like and buy it for him and get him to put some on, and then act like you find him irresistable. Sex him up like crazy. Encourage him to wear it. Tell him it works with his natural chemistry and makes him smell so good to you. If he hates wearing fragrance, try a strongly scented antiperspirant and soap.

shower gel and one of those puffy lufa things so he can scrub his chest and body good. Hair traps smells.

Better yet, he should shave.

I'm trying all these ideas... thanks for the help!

Although, not sure about the loofa. He's a manly man, I can't see him using one.

One of those scrubby brushes on a long stick, maybe? Men like long sticks. Haha.

Although cleanliness is not necessarily a trait that only women should embrace, I do hear you.

bad pheromones

Doesn't matter what he eats, if he showers with smell good soap, puts on cologne, it's his natural state

example, my sister

no matter what she did she always had a mussy smell, like old people clothes in a cedar chest

you either live with it and put some Vic salve under your nose or you find better smelling phermones

Have you considered taking a big whiff of sulfur right before your husband come home? That way he won't smell so bad compared to what you just smelled

I dated a man whose smell I could not tolerate. He came over straight from playing basketball and I almost threw up. Made him shower. Needless to say we didn't attach for long.

I used to work in a job that had bad smells. A drop of scent on your upper lip just below your nose can help. Use your own favorite perfume.

Is it everywhere, or does it come mostly from his head? I have a hard time with DH and figured out its from his head. He uses a sulpher soap now for his hair and scalp and when he uses it, I have i issues with the smell. I can tell when he doesn't.

Maybe he should eat some celery.

Scented body wash before bed - Avon has mens ones. Lots of them and they are dirt cheap like $3 ish. Try Black Suede ESSENTIAL. try a few. they work for at least an hour or so.
