I was the one that posted the picture links.
OP didn't say what shade of orange, but light orangesickle would be soothing. (thinking about what the other PP said.) I LOVE the orange and lime green in the first pic, but the walls aren't orange. |
Why? Most babies are over-stimulated and have trouble getting enough sleep. |
| grey and white as complementary colors. too busy, bright, head-ache-y otherwise. |
| teal or aqua |

Our "nursery" is painted 4 different bright colors - yellow, green, purple, and orange. Kids never had a problem sleeping in there, because we have blackout shades on the windows and it was too dark to see the wall colors.
I personally love the idea of orange walls. I think it would be totally fun. |

My daughter's room is mostly orange with an accent wall in blue. Her curtains are blue, as are other accessories. I figure she'll grow into it as a tween/teen. I love the combination!
Her bed is a locker type (metal with three drawers in orange, blue and white), and there's a metal desk (sleek) that matches. So we kept the furniture neutral, for the most part, allowing the colors to be the main attraction. |

We are in the process of painting DS room bright orange on two walls, white on the other two. We are then going to paint his hands and feet with bright primary colors and do hand/footprints all over the white walls. Should be cute.
Use orange on an accent wall or two, and it will be easier to coordinate. Consider doing the other walls white or some neutral color and punch them up with art. Have fun! |

| I painted our second bedroom bright bright orange -- I'm talking pumpkin color here -- to hide horrible faux wood panelling. It was great when the sun shone on it, it would glow. The rest of the time it was way too much. We ended up renting out our house and our renters painted it light blue for their son. It worked well as a nursery once we moved back in. So my suggestion is, a little orange goes a long way.... |

My dd has an orange room- it was her first request when she got her own room. Her bed is natural wood and we've accented it with warm cream, melon (not pink- she didn't want too much of a princess feel) and a soft moss.
If you think it out, the "mismatching" of furniture kind of works together if all the colors complement the orange. My only advise would be to invest in some thick curtains or blinds- the room always look cheery but when the sun is bright and the sheer curtains are drawn the whole room has a glow to it that can only be muted by her drapes |
