Useful agencies have increased funding DHS, FBI, |
Yes. Haven't heard of anyone coming in any division lately. And Jay Clayton submitted a budget proposal this week which specifically states he wants to continue the hiring freeze while maintaining the budget at current levels. If that were to be effective there wouldn't be hiring - unless there was an exceptional circumstance - until the end of Sept 2018 at the earliest. If anyone needs to get out of biglaw esp if partnership isn't happening -- make other plans before your law firm time runs out. |
| Agencies have been told to enact a hiring freeze internally. Since this wasn't a presidential one it didn't go through the public notice. You have to look to the internal agency memos to find the policy for each specific agency but yes, there is still a hiring freeze. |
| we're all good at cia. no hiring freeze. |
| Anyone heard anything at a USDA bureau? |
| Or...DOI? |
| DOI |

lifted, not hiring. worried about budget cuts. |
| They've put a cap on the total number of positions we're allowed at my DOJ component. It's lower than the number of current employees, so we still can't hire. If we don't hit our target through attrition by next year we could have even bigger issues. |
| I just got an offer at DOD and I have an interview at DHS. |
you mean security theatre agencies. bow down to the panopticon. |
thanks. didnt know what the status was but will put in an application next week. DI hiring or is it mostly DO/DST? |
| treasury and state have barely had any openings recently. |
Not hiring. We're supposed to be having big staff cuts and a reorg. |
