| We've had two Caps (hockey) families at our APS. They are very nice people - easy to speak with, generous with their time. I've seen a couple of people ask the players for an autograph and they've done it with a smile. |

I went to Harvard while Natalie Portman was there, and saw her in the dining hall a few times: she wore "normal" college clothes and didn't call attention to herself, but had a friend group. One of my friends had a class with her and said she was intelligent. She didn't use "Portman" at Harvard (because that isn't her real name), and she wasn't in the student directory.
I had a grad student friend who had been there when Rivers Cuomo was enrolled (the Weezer singer). Rivers was "on leave" when I was there, apparently, but came back after I graduated. My friend said that he had a leg brace and looked homeless when he was there, and he was really quiet and sad. |
| My brothers went to school with one of W's nephews while he was President. He came over to our house and I got a briefing by the secret service and a number to call! It was kind of exciting! |

Went to college with a Princess who was my dorm mate. She ended up being married to another celebrity.
She was one of the most exquisitely beautiful girl I have ever seen. She was a teenager and she looked as if she was glowing and almost an otherworldly stunning beauty. Very very feminine and she worked hard to dress and live like all of us, but she had such exquisite manners, such a feminine sweet voice and was so gentle and polite that she stood out. She had another girl with her who might have been her bodyguard. The only time she was like a Princess was when a slew of limos would come to pick her up from the college at the end of the term. She would dress in a designer "Princessy" outfit and her luggage was amazing. All the handsome bodyguards would bow to her and she would hurry to sit in the limo. This was another country, not the US. Wow! What a blast from the past. |
| Several of my friends have kids who have gone to school with Sean Spicer's kids. I'm getting a kick out of their stories. (though he's more infamous than famous!) |
I went to UT Austin when Jenna Bush was also attending. Ran into her drunk at a house party (literally, bumped into her in the hallway) and, incensed, she said "Do you know who my father is?" (No joke.) Not to be outdone, I retorted: "Do you know who MY father is?" She was not amused. |

I went to a college that had a successful basketball team and frequently saw a player on campus who went on to a long and successful NBA career. I wasn't buddies with him or anything, but it was always fun to see him on campus.
One of my best friends has a dad who was a college and NFL football coach. My now-husband was kind of star struck, because he worshipped the guy. we even stayed in his condo one new year's eve (she was living there for a time after college - her dad was out of town at the time) I had to make him promise not to "borrow" anything

I went to school with the daughter of a Redskins' player and their house was the same way! They even had Redskins TP, which confused me at first because I wasn't sure if I could use it (at my house, the fancy paper towels in our bathroom were for decoration, not use). I had to go back out and ask if that TP was for use, which she found hilarious and she had to immediately tell her mom. When my mom picked me up, her mom told her about my little "issue" and my mom was mortified that I'd told these people about her fancy paper towels. Her dad was traded to the Steelers and when I got to visit in Pittsburgh one summer, everything in that house was Steelers. Makes me wonder, do all athletes do that? Deck their house out in the gear of the team they're part of and then start over when traded?? |
| His thread is funny- thanks DCUM! |
| My sibling knows Bo Derek and John Corbett. They all ride horses and live in the same area North of Santa Barbara. They were also in the same riding group with Kelly Lebrock. Said they are super nice people and down to earth. Years ago they were invited to Neverland after Jackson died by the new company that bought it. They got to tour the inside, older home but nice and typical for that area. |
| Both my kids had DC-level celebrity parents in their schools - cabinet secretaries, media people, former big name pro athletes (no current pro athletes). Seems like that's pretty common in this area. One DC goes to college with Madonna's daughter. |
| i went to private school in los angeles, so yes, tons of kids of celebs and some celebs themselves, both then and certainly now. but i was the dorky kid of two professor parents and my friends were also dorky kids of normal parents, though some of them were entertainment lawyers and the like. The cool kids all hung out with each other, although I did tag along to some insane, less than zero parties my senior year when I had one friend who was way cooler than I was. I dont recall it ever coming up with my parents, whether they were star struck or not. |
| I was friends with two guys who both went on to be starting NFL quarterbacks, Matt schaub and MATT Ryan. Close friend married Brent celek, an eagles standout. Bam Margera and Anne Hathaway were also friends. |

I went to a low key boarding school. Over winter break at home, I was flipping through Town & Country in a hair salon and came upon a picture spanning two pages of my friend from school riding a horse on her family's island. There was no internet back then so I went to the public library to figure out the deal with her family - her family is extremely wealthy and very famous in a particular industry but I hadn't heard the family name outside of her before that. I never in a million years would have guessed my friend came from such wealth because she was so "normal."

| My son goes to school with the son of a celebrity TV chef. Mom is nice but we don't see her that much as she outsources a ton. Funny thing is on her show she frequently talks about cooking homemade meals for her family. The kid buys the same crappy lunch every day. |
