Kodiak Cake mix is very high in protein! I'm going to try the muffin idea, thanks to the PP who suggested it!

Do I have a different definition of high protein? http://www.kodiakcakes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Nutrition_FJM-408x1024.jpg

Such a weird post, op? Who puts this much thought into it? My vote though is peanut butter toast. Or protein breaks at bar

The Kodiak mix I have in my pantry has 14 g protein and 5 grams fiber per serving.

I guess I could call your post equally weird? Who goes to the effort to criticize someone for posting for food ideas in a food forum! I have a kid who needs protein or she has issues with emotion regulation- I've tried a bunch of things and am looking for new ideas. I try to focus on being kind to others honestly (and she eats peanut butter for lunch so trying to diversify)

Buttered toast with an egg over medium and a slice of cheese.

I would say a toasted egg salad sandwich but that would be kind of messy to eat in the car. Love those things though.

In the car?

Breakfast burritos are the supreme option.

Hard boiled eggs, or medium boiled if she prefers a softer yolk.

Sausage links wrapped in a slice of whole grain toast.

Pita bread stuffed with scrambled eggs or egg salad

Wrong one. http://www.kodiakcakes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Powercakes-label-253x1024.jpg

The first three ingredients are flour! 30 g carbs vs 14 G protein.

And I SWEAR that people were just decrying protein powder for kids on the smoothies thread . Brown sugar? NOT HIGH PROTEIN.

Whole grains have lots of really good available protein. It doesn't all have to come from an animal. and kids need carbohydrates. They shouldn't be running around on Atkins diet. 14 grams of protein and 30 grams of carbs seems like a fine balance for a child

NP - OP my DS has the same issue. He needs protein and it's hard to keep up with good ideas- DS will like something for awhile then start refusing. We need a lot of ideas too. Smoothies with Greek yogurt, banana, and real nut butter works well. It has a lot of sugar so DS doesn't eat it everyday. Avocado and egg on toast (may not travel well but extremely healthy), and simple nut butter on a whole wheat English muffin with a boxed milk.
