It was really a s&^%show last year. Why don't they do My School DC?

Because then they wouldn't be able to fill their seats with younger kids and non residents.

They'd have to align their age ranges to 3 by 9/30 (and so on).

I never received my lottery number in advance last year. I just called after the lottery and they told me my stop on the waitlist. We were #30 or so and had an offer by June.

The first come, first served statement is really odd. It should be a lottery, just like LAMBs lottery.

I thought it was a few days before myschooldc would publish results but can't find that confirmed anywhere now.

We ended up enrolling. My child has birthday past Sep. 30th but I heard Bethune would take them. Its OK...I like the fact thats its two teachers and only about 14 students in the class which is a much better ratio than the PK3 class at my older child's school. My child learned a little Spanish and loves the socialization. However it would not be a long term school solution for us even if my younger child was not joining their older sibling next year.

So how do you then transition into a school that enforces the age cut off? Since your child is not eligible for PK4 at the other school next year?

Not the PP, but those that I know that did this did two years of PK3.

Yes, we are doing PK# again.

So we get to pay for 16 years of your kid's education? DCPCSB really needs to investigate this.

OP here - I just got an automated email from SchoolMint that we are waitlisted. Logged on that website and got the #; in the 70s. Congrats on having at least one known option for next year. So far we are 0 for 2. Hopefully we have better luck with LAMB (ha) and MySchool.
