Seriously, what is the downside?

That's probably a good way for a women to suss out whether her openminded, "bi," boyfriend is going to be compatible with her. If he admits to some bisexual attraction, that's one thing. If he has a... ahem... deep seated need to take it in the seat, then there may be challenges down the road.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. Sex is important (very), but what keeps a serious relationship together is who you bond with, emotionally. I'm a gay dude. I have enjoyed sex with women, lots of fund. BUt I don't want to marry them.

I'm not sure why this is so ridiculous. You don't think sex role preference has an impact on your feelings about someone? I understand that you prefer men, but you stated that enjoyed having sex with women. I assume that you are either a top, or are versatile. Don't you think an exclusive bottom would find it harder to enjoy sex with a women (and vice versa). A bisexual top has a natural sexual compatibility with both women and gay bottoms. Obviously, if someone enjoys having sex with women, it's going to make it much easier for them to be in a romantic relationship with women.

There's a big difference between liking to be penetrated and having a same sex orientation.

I know truly bi guys who only have sex with men when they are passive.

I know straight guys who like to get pegged.

There is a difference, but they are not completely unrelated.

There are men who exclusively prefer to bottom. This is very different from being a man who generally prefers "topping" his wife, but occasionally likes to switch things up. The former has a sexual preference that is fundamentally incompatible with virtually all women. The latter is still basically sexually compatible with his wife.

There are also men who strongly prefer topping and have zero little in being penetrated. While some of these men only want other men, there are many men in this category who can enjoy being with both a man and a women. This is also someone who can probably have a successful LTR with a woman. Many guys like this just identify as "straight," because they know that being "bi" is stigmatized by both gays and conservatives.

A guy who only likes to bottom for other guys is probably not bi in any sense of the word.

A guy who is completely into getting pegged by women (and that is a thing) could easily be completely straight.

Right. But the second guy probably also enjoys PIV sex wth his wife. The first guy doesn't. That's why the first guy could be straight, or a "bisexual" guy who genuinely enjoys sex with both men and women. The guy who only likes to bottom really can't enjoy sex with most woman, unless he finds a woman who loves pegging men and hates PIV sex.

Just wondering if you're a gay or straight, male or female. I'm a gay man and I find your distinctions, well, odd.

The poster's "concepts" about things are very hetero-normic

I'm Bi. Totally love getting it on with petite large-breasted Latina women. I also enjoy getting my brains F'd-out by older, white bears. No internet in topping, no interest in anything other than bottoming for older white bears, period.

I'd guess my F/M sexual partner ratio is probably 90% female-10% male.

I consider myself a bi male, though I have only had sexual experiences with women, and don't really talk about my bi leanings. I do sometimes feel attracted to men, though they tend to be on the cute/femme side. I don't feel any attraction to most men. I would like to be able to be more open about it, but it's difficult because of the way bisexual men are assumed to either not exist or are promiscuous, disease spreading libertines.

None of this would be a big deal if such a big deal wasn't made about monogamy.

Bi guy here. Really only ever romantically dated women, but enjoyed sex with both.

I prefer to bottom with a guy because I like the prostate stimulation it provides.

I also like fucking a woman vaginally, sans condom, because it feels so damn good.

I have very little interest in sticking my cock in an anus, male or female because that's where poop comes from. If I'm with a guy, I'd rather be on the receiving end. If I'm with a woman, the vagina feels better than the anus.

And pegging? That's a novelty. Never really worked that well for me.

This, almost 100%

I like bottoming because I like the prostate stimulation from having my insides filled-up by my Top, and also the feeling of being dominated and submitting to him as he takes me.

I like vaginal sex because I like women, I'm very attracted to them, and it feels great. But I also like anal with women. I'm not into pegging at all, because women aren't men, and specifically not the kind of men I like being topped by. And they can't ejaculate, either, which defeats the whole point of being topped... but if a g/f were into pegging, I'd humor her because I'm GGG.

So, PP, you're bottoming without using condoms? That's what makes women leery of dating bi men. Very risky behavior.

This isn't 1981

None of the sexually transmitted diseases have magically gone away since 1981.

Advances in treatment are not the same as cures for things like HIV. The meds are expensive, and if you lose insurance and can't afford to stay on them forever, you're screwed.

And have you not heard about the rise of antibiotic-resistant STDs and the increase in cases?

I am one of the pp's who likes to bottom. I don't see where I or anyone else said we like to bottom without using condoms.
