And it's stupid to think that that's the only campus where young people would've responded to Charles Murray like that.

Yes, an overpriced school for rejects of better schools will be ok.

Middlebury is a top 10 LAC. I know kids who've turned down Williams and Yale to go there.

And its acceptance rate is slightly lower than Williams'.

I would think the same would be true for and larger campuses- whether liberal or conservative leaning. Mitch Daniels is the President.

Yes, exactly. I went to a University of California school (though not Berkeley) and the school was big enough that there was a place for everyone and you could find your political group if that was your thing (or you could avoid politics altogether).

Hillsdale College in Michigan is going to become a highly selective LAC within five years. Watch.

Well it must have been for the skiing and protesting opportunities!

Many private colleges in Virginia are primarily conservative. Washington and Lee, university of Richmond, for example. I know conservative students who have done well at both places. I'm sure there are many more in Virginia.

That said, a good person will be accepted by good people anywhere. If your kid is a bigot, like so many Conservatives, he will likely have a very difficult time in college.

I agree with this 100%. "A good person will be accepted by good people." And universities and colleges have historically been liberal.

Where are people finding fault with this post? Not all conservatives are bigots but all bigots are conservatives.
The real bigot just outed him/herself.

See above, for 2 posts, demonstrating the meaning of bigotry in action!

How could you not find bigotry in this post? I guess you would think that the Middlebury students weren't bigots either. Really?

I am a graduate of Texas A&M and can attest to its place on that list.

Eh, Bill Maher is pretty bigoted.

Question is, does your DC "believe" in "science"?

While I am life long Democrat, it seems to me that there is far more intellectual heft coming from small groups of relatively more conservative students on college campuses today - certainly on a per pupil basis. They actually still believe in having to use reason to formulate and defend their ideas -- and must work harder to do so in anticipation of an onslaught of attacks. The left on campus is so tied up with end results and identity politics that it is to difficult to engage with them in serious debate.

Conservatives believe in science. I'm one of them. Shut up.
