Just venting anonymously about my little green monster. Can't say anything about it to my husband because he interprets comments like that as "complaining."

Okay. Vent over.

What do you drive now, OP?

If you really want it, work for it, then you get a sense of appreciation because you work hard for it. Forget how others get their stuff. That's how I see it.

+1000

I wish I knew you IRL, you get it.

We have A4 as our second car. We considered Q7 but it seemed too long, too much like a minivan. We bought merc gle 350

A6, don't care about the SUVs.

Used car people are funny. I know you're like to think you're smarter than everyone but really you're just poor, buying other people's discarded junk.

Driving a brand new car, perfect paint, latest tech, no maintenance worries >>>>>

Cars aren't my thing. We could pay cash no prob for it--but not my thing.

Ironically, in my neck of woods are inversely proportional to families' net worth. The strivers/debtors are the ones with the fancy things.

OP here. No way. Husband is a really good man but is basically a reverse snob who eschews labels or status symbols of any kind. He says the only status symbol he wants is early retirement. Lol.

guess not OP, since they now own a Q7. Even if it's his wife's car - they are a couple and that would seem to go against his eschewing of labels and reverse snobbery. that's just a front OP.

Pretty sure OP was talking about her own husband, not the friend.

OP here. Yes, I meant my own husband.

Where?

On the west coast, the Q7 is basically a soccer mom minivan. Seriously.

It's crazy people think it's the lap of luxury.

OP here. It's still $55k. You are out of touch if you think ordinary people can pay that for a car.

^^they are a dime a dozen where I live. They've replaced the Volvo-XC 90 as the mom-mobile.

Tesla X is what the Q7 mom's aspire to..
