Can I file a complaint with HR since our admin came in with the flu?

Do you really want your admin (low paid already) to use LWOP to recover? Why not allow her to telework?

I don't understand the low paid comment. If she was educated and intelligent enough to get a job paying more, she would. Why should her coworkers have to risk illness because she manages her leave poorly?

H1B or Immigrant?

many H1Bs or immigrants think sick time is for vacation and trips to India.

so when they are sick they go to work. I have heard a couple people say sick time is a benefit that they use completely each year.

Nope, AA female, over 40.

Why don't YOU take some leave then? Maybe your empathy will return after a break.

You fully deserve to catch the flu.

She's already had 3 days off. It's my fault that she doesn't eat right or exercise and uses all her paid leave for fun instead of banking any for illness?

Well if you eat right and exercise, then why should you worry about catching the flu?

This is OP. You all have convinced me that my workplace won't protect me so I'm going to work at home the rest of today and also tomorrow. Thanks!

Perhaps you can pull her aside and counsel her. Clearly, you know all about her life and what's best for her and everyone else.

I dunno. If she really does have the flu and really did use up her sick leave for vacation, I can see why OP would be pissed. The sick woman is putting everyone at risk. Maybe she should stay home and take LWOP.

I would be pissed if someone came in with the flu

She had 19 days of leave. She used it all up on vacation, didn't save any for sick leave. How is that the fault of those of us who are more prudent and don't want her getting us sick?

You're a busybody. Stop worrying what everyone else does.

I doubt shr actually has the flu. Either she or the OP is exaggerating

I think there are other problems here. Clearly, OP has something against or has a problem with this person's life/choices.

Maybe the best thing OP can do is steer clear.
