What kind of woman teaches at a Montessori preschool?

Anonymous
My guess is OP is referring to a conflict of moral values.

OP, are you asking if you would have little in common (few common interests) because you have different careers?

I am a Montessori teacher married to a lawyer. I don't understand the point of your post. We're all different.

The one I know was a ball-buster investment banker, then private equity director. She downshifted to the Limited Partner side when she got married and had kids. Then 3 kids later downshifted again to teaching and loved Montessori and young kids so got certified there and worked 8-3pm at one of the nearby Montessori programs (age 2-6). Great for her, her family and her kids. She's married. Not sure who OP is or what s/he is looking for.

Lots of people want to teach later in life. And have the guts to do so.

OP do you mean your wondering what the Montessori philosophy is and if you agree with it?

Not sure what your profession has to do with that.

Yes. but we haven't met yet.

Montessori has actual teachers, who are trained. They do have aides. It is a methodology but every school applies it differently, and frankly all the families I know send their kids to the closest pre-school (reggio, montessori, play-based), they got in to.

This is not a daycare worker job.

That said, it's not exactly a career unless you want to be a career pre-k teacher or the Director of the program/school.

OMG People, she already clarified what she meant.
She wants to date the director based on email conversations but wants to know if its ok to suggest the idea or not as she is a parent and has a child at the school. So can the director date a parent is the question..

Nor sure if you are a gay woman or a man OP but either way I would meet her first, before you suggest a date.

OP,

You should have started by saying there was a potentially romantic relationship between the two of you, or something to that effect.

Being a non-native speaker has nothing to do with communicating in a clear and concise manner.

- other non-native speaker.

Wait what? OP has a child at the school?

PP again - let's be honest, you do sound a little bit stupid. Just like other people in education, she could be any type! Hopefully she likes kids, that's all you can infer, but nothing about politics, religion, etc.

I am a Montessori teacher who finds your last comment very offensive. Being a teacher IS a career.

No, OP never said that. Not sure what this PP is talking about. OP said they are "in a very different line of work" so I think "conflict of interest" meant that potentially they're not a good match philosophically/personality-wise?

I'm sorry. Did you say this: Being a non-native speaker has nothing to do with communicating in a clear and concise manner.

And you're calling OP stupid?

This, OP is translating conflict and interest literally, so the question is really: will they have interests in common.

OP, the answer is that many kinds of people teach at Montessori schools. Generally, to be good at teachign in a Montessori, you have to be calm, observant, flexible, creative, and good with people.
