Agree that the ladies in yellow won the night - Reese, Viola and Natalie. Also liked Issa Rae and Evan Rachel Wood.

There were also a lot of *bad* dresses. Hated Michelle Williams' dress most, followed by SJP, Kerry Russell and Nicole Kidman. A lot of yikes! I liked Emma Stone's dress a lot but agree with the PP that she was way too pale to pull that off.

In terms of the many pink confections, I liked Lily Collins best. Did not get Zoe Saldana's dress at all - too froo-froo to be for real, but not kitschy enough to be tongue in cheek.

[Would be happy to post pic but no idea how. Is there a DCUM tutorial somewhere on this?]

If you undo the bow aorund her neck, her head will fall off...

Yes not her best look. Very rough / ruff. She said she was doing a Princess Leia Carrie Fisher tribute?!?!

Jessica Biel looks like she made her dress in Home Economics class.

Regarding someone like Nicole Kidman: she's been walking red carpet awards shows for well over 20 years (add in all the music award shows for over 10 years), has a model body and yes, all the fashion world and designers at her disposal. And she's expected to mix things up, never be dull, beware of "safe" and yet expected to be everyone's favorite. It's impossible to please everybody. It is funny that she's often on "best dressed" lists but I've also seen her on best and worst dressed lists for the same event. Carry on.

i didn't watch the Golden Globes, but I'm laughing aloud over here...the Jessica Biel photo...yikes! it does indeed look like a home economic project! oh well.

Jessica Biel's head looks so small! Blake Lively's head also looks weirdly tiny, to go along with those tiny pockets!

I love her, and almost love this dress. But it looks like she forgot her shirt. The lapels need to be an inch closer, or she needs some sort of shirt...even if it was just a sheer bodice or something. Did her show about sort-of-heaven get cancelled? I thought it was hysterical. She has fabulous comedic timing, as did the guy who played her not-soul-mate.

Still channelling Jackie.

Agree Reese looked great -- hair and makeup were perfect. Let me add three more who looked fabulous:

Julia Louis Dreyfuss (love her!)

Busy Phillips

Gwendolynne Christie from GOT

I know Kerry Washington can usually do no wrong in fashion circles, but I did not like her dress. It looked like her underwear was showing through and it didn't seem to fit her right in the photos.

What do people think about Drew Barrymore? I usually hate the open shoulder thing, but I think she made it work. I liked the shiny silver on her -- with the white, it avoided looking like body armor.

Totally agree with this assessment. Also love her and The Good Place, enough that I know it has not been decided whether it's renewed or not yet.

The Good Place is still on! They just had a new episode last week. I adore that show. It's not the best show ever, but it's very funny and cute. I never saw her other show so this is the first time I've seen her in something and I think she's a very talented comedic actress.

I do agree that's more skin than I'd like to see but it seems to be par for the course during award shows.

I would love that without the random flowers. Love print on the red carpet.
