The Lindsey Lohan version was okay, but the original with Haley Mills is so much better,

Lol i know it makes no sense , watching it as an adult. But as kid its suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a good movie. Lindsay's best movie ever.

I beg to differ. "Mean Girls" is pure gold. She shines.

I've seen that movie so many times, and it really is the rest of the ensemble cast that carries Mean Girls (and Tina Fey's script). Lindsay plays the straight man to the rest of them.

Also meant to add I think her best performance was Freaky Friday

Yep, that's the movie I just downloaded for my tween. But thanks for reminding about Parent Trap.

I don't know if I can watch the new Parent Trap anymore. Just thinking about Natasha Richardson makes me sad. So tragic.

It is incredibly tragic how she died. Way too soon. But I do still love watching her. She was amazing

But I actually enjoyed the LiLo version when it came out in my 20s.

I get what you are saying about the plotline, but I try not to worry about that and just enjoy it.

Did I write this in my sleep? No matter which version you watch, you just have to suspend reality over this part of the plot.

While I loved the Hayley version as a child, I do think it is very dated now and the LILO version feels so much more modern. Oh well, the original is on Netflix so you know what we will b watching!

And no matter how screwed up her life gets, lilo will always have a spot to n my heart because Of this movie and mean girls

twinsies

And Dennis Quaid as dad is totally charming. I know he's had troubles in his past, but I can look past that because...well, damn. DILF.

We love the Lindsey version. Have probably watched it 30 times, no joke. Still DDs favorite movie and she's in her 20s. We even drove up to the gates of the winery in Napa where it was filmed to peek in (it's only open for private events).

Fun Fact: The fiancee in the Haley Mills version is the mom of the fiancee in the Lindsey Lohan version.

She aged very well.

Joanna Barnes, right? And if I recall, both characters she plays are named Vicki. I like to think it is the same Vicki in the two movies - but this time it's her daughter who gets caught in the Parent Trap. But you would think the mom - having been through that situation herself - would advise her on ways to handle the twins.

and Pollyanna and Trouble With Angels.

Side note - did you know PBS remade Pollyanna a few months ago? It's on the PBS app if you want to watch a remake of the Hayley version.

Anonymous wrote:Yes but Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid as a couple, so cute! (although nothing can top the beauty of Maureen O'Hara in the original.)

It's a ridiculous movie about my eight-year-old daughter really liked it recently.

maureen didn't want either of them. she was too busy being fabulous!

Ha, I love The Moonspinners! I've been looking for it on various streaming but it seems that the old Disney flicks (like Herbie too) are still locked in vaults or you have to buy the DVD.
