Really? I know plenty like that (Obama includes both of them, Michele is quite popular these days) |
| I have friends that support Clinton. Some I have temporarily blocked because post 10+ things a day. Others are tolerable. I respect my friends and hope they respect me. We just want different outcomes to the election. |
| OP, you don't have any FB friends who talk about Hillary and Obama and post pics of their kids? Those seem to be very common themes all over my FB and I am not a Democrat. |
|
I have to question the age and maturity of a person who feels compelled to “call out” friends on FB who happen to support a candidate that you don’t.
|
Nope, not really. I must hang in a very conservative circle. Most of my friends are not political, so they just post pictures of their cats/kids. One of my friends has a political job as a Democrat but ALL of her posts are political and as the election draws closer she is actually super busy and not posting anything. A few of my friends "like" posts related to Hillary/Obama, but that's maybe 2. Quite a few are anti-Trump but are a lot less vocal about Hillary, or they are voting green or libertarian. And then I have quite a few Trump supporter friends. And some of them are very vocal and have posted quite a few political items. And a lot of those items are just flagrantly misleading or untrue. |
| OP here... I have to emphasize that I "call out" posts that are misleading or untrue, for the most part. It's not just because I disagree. |
| I generally avoid political discussions, but I will never be able to respect any of my friends or relatives who support a man who is clearly racist and derogatory to women. Luckily, my friends are smart enough. My relatives, not so much. Do I call the out? No. because I honestly believe trump supporters are either too stupid or too close minded to fully understand logic or reason. |
OP here. I guess the reason I do it is that people post things that are not true, and then they just believe them, and they become part of this mythology about Hillary Clinton. At least if I point out that the story is not true, I feel like I am breaking this cycle of affirmation that people are getting when they post inaccurate articles and just get a bunch of "likes." I have also noticed that when I post a comment, a bunch of other people pile on too, like I broke the ice. There is just SO MUCH inaccurate information posted. I have one Trump supporter friend that I do not argue with, every single time the guy posts something it becomes a huge pile on with 20 people writing "Why in the world are you supporting him?!?!?!" So I don't dive into that. |
That's fascinating. Where do you live? |
With 'friends' like you, who needs enemies. You're not a friend, just another nasty, judgemental person with an opinion. |
In the DMV. Yes Virginia, there are some Trump supporters in this area! |
I am, indeed, a very NASTY woman, pp. I have so, so many opinions! From my own little feeble lady mind! |
|
Calling them out for what....? Holding a different opinion?
COme on closed minded liberals.... |
By doing that you only prove how immature Hillary supporter truly are - and no one needs to lie about that!! |
I don't know, if you are posting about what a great guy Trump is and how Hillary is a "criminal" is it really out of line to point out that Hillary has been convicted of no crimes and that Trump has some issues? You know, like how he is a racist and a demagogue with no policies who assaults women? Or if you are posting a misleading or untrue article, is it really out of line to point out that said article is misleading or untrue? |
