| I follow Amy's adoption saga too. Was there a teaser last week that she may be pregnant? Weird that I thought Bobby was shamelessly promoting Lindsay Ell a month or two ago and now we learn she's his gf. |
I have noticed that 93.3 and 99.9 are coming in a bit clearer lately, FYI. I never even used to get them on my car dial- maybe increasing signal strength as they grow? I like Bobby Bones for the most part, but not that invested in it- I flip around alot. |
If you looked at their Instagram's, you would know they have been friends for 2 years. Bobby also has been known to plug female artists because of "Saladgate" (google what that is), so Lindsay fit the bill. |
Whatever. He can't get close to people, remember? It won't last. He's been promoting her a lot, though, and she's been "a friend of the show" for a long time, if I recall correctly. She opened for some of their Raging Idiots shows, I think. |
| He has a nearly 80 minute conversation for his podcast with his now g/f Lindsey Ell: http://www.iheart.com/show/139-Bobby-Cast/?cmp=web_share |
| omg, 80 bonus minutes of Bobby Bones being obnoxious with a girl? Christmas has come early! |
Your welcome!
|
| I've never heard of this girl aside from him endlessly pimping her out on the show. |
| Who dat? Bobby Bones? |
| Who dat? Bobby Bones? Bad name. |
| So weird with continuing to use the fake name. He has enough "fame" now that he'd lose no listeners and gain some respect if he went back to his birth name Bobby Estell. But now I guess he won't want to rhyme with gf Lindsay Ell. BTW, Lindsay is a legit guitar player. She backed up Carrie's girl band at the CMAs. |

I feel sad about the trajectory the show has taken as it's gotten bigger. I've listened for years, and liked how it really seemed to be an honest "bunch of friends". I liked the bits like Amy Tells a Joke, and Tell me Something Good, which were a more positive spin on standard radio fare.
Now it's turned into an endless Raging Idiots / ego stroking session, and very contrived. I barely listen any more, and when I do now, it just seems so... forced. I wouldn't listen at all if I was a new listener. |
But then he'd lose his contrived story of how he got his "dumb" radio name--when he first started out, the producers of his first show gave him a choice of two DJ names, and he chose Bones. So, ya see, it was forced on him, and he can't go back now because it's part of his shtick. I don't think it's that weird to keep using it now, though. Look at Jack Diamond, et al. Lindsay Ell is legit. Too bad they're going to break up eventually. I wonder if they'll stay friends. |
| Kane Show is much better. His War of the Roses is just the funniest thing ever. |
I appreciate this perspective. I had never heard of him until the show came to WMZQ, and have been dumbfounded by his following. Not in DC, obviously, but the rest of the listeners that are such rabid fans, buying up all that pimpin' joy crap and selling out his band concerts. But it make sense if the show used to be radically different. |
