DH spends all evening in the bathroom

He needs a doctor - Stat! But not sure if its an MD or a shrink. Whatever, its creepy. I would jump on the medical possibility ASAP. If he has some kind of blockage it would have to be severe to cause that kind of problem. Do some basic internet research on possible causes and present him with the info and scare the crap out of him....pun intended. If the info you present is alarming and he blows it off, then he's got some other problem.

I can understand if he needs 20 minutes to go - some people need that much time. But if he's doing that 3 times every night, that's wrong. It used to be that some men would run to the bar every evening to avoid the family mayhem, but he's found his own version of recreation. Unfortunately, even if you do get him to stay out of the bathroom, he's not going to be helpful.

Tell him to stop bringing his damn phone into the bathroom. Or, you start going into the bathroom for 30 min at a time and let him handle bedtime. See how he likes it.

My parents both take ages to go, too. One sits and reads and enjoys the quiet time, the other just takes a long time. Thankfully, I got the shit or get off the pot gene.

Embarrassingly, it takes me a bit of time to go to the bathroom, despite drinking tons of water and eating veggies, exercising. So I understand needing 20 minutes to go to the bathroom.

But, it seems excessive that there is a specific schedule for this and that he basically avoids a bunch of child-rearing responsibilities to just sit there. He shouldn't need THAT much time in the bathroom. He needs some Fiber One bars or exercise, or talking to his doctor. Also, sitting on the toilet that long can give you hemorrhoids if you are actually pushing that much.

Im not the pp but you and the OP can live in lala land. My AP told me he takes his phone in the BR to email me. His wife is all over his stuff too. He finds a way. So not trying to make her insecure, just trying to open her eyes that he may not just be watching videos... What advice do you have for her?????

I do this and I'm a mom and DW. I'm hiding from my needy, relentless family! I also pretend to be asleep in the morning so DH gets up with the kids, but I'm really reading DCUM.

Seriously. I used spend a ton of time pooping because I hate feeling constipated I got the squatters potty and and now in and out of the bathroom quickly.
