| a $5000 leather sofa bed lasted us 10 years. It would have lasted longer if it were not for our Irish twins who jumped on it daily and ate all their food sitting on it, vomitted on it, etc etc. |
| Ethan Allen 11 years going strong |
| Our Domain sofa lasted 22 years- so bummed they are out of business! |

My parents have a sofa set that is now in their basement where all the grandkids are welcome to do anything.
The set is 30+ years old and still in almost perfect condition. Original cushions and all. My slipcover couch from crate and barrel is 6 years old and will likely be in its last legs in 3-4 more years. |
I don't think our sofa in the family room will last long because my husband uses it as a gas reliever. |
I loved that store. Have a sofa now that I bought in 2004 and still looks and feels great. |
I'm in the process of replacing mine from 1999. It was a feather one, and all the internal fabric sacs containing the feathers have disintegrated, so our family room always looks like a chicken farm. But we've had it a loooong time. |

Gosh ours is 30 years old. It's going strong but I wanted it reupholstered about 15 years ago.
I cover it with cute blankets that I wash every other week so we pretend we're not sitting on a 30 year old sofa. It's a Jennifer Convertibles. |

We have 5 kids. We have 2 sofas that are 40+ years, with multiple reupholsterings.
We have 1 sofa that lasted 1 day (!!!). It was the start of norovirus-fest at our house. We learned about norovirus-fest when 2 of our then middle schoolers were standing in the living room admiring the new sofa and they began repeatedly projectile vomiting on the sofa. It was not our finest family moment. Gosh I was so happy when I got that sofa. It was braaaaaand new. And a style that I loved - that I picked out. No lie - I felt like a grownup for the first time! The 2 that are 40+ years old came from my folks. We have had them for 30 years and my folks had them for about 10 years before. They bought both at Bloomingdales. I think we will have grandchildren who will be reupholstering them. Those suckers are built to last. P.S. I cannot tell you how disgusting and difficult it was to move that sucker out of the house to be taken away by the trash and not contaminate everything else in the process. |
| We have one that needs to go at 11 years. We replaced the foam insets in the cushions and it is still great to sit on but there is plastic trim inside the cushion edges to give it structure and it's beginning to break and poke through the upholstery! |
