Hilalary looks really awkward on between to ferns

I honestly feel like the one way to tell a democrat from a republican is can and will they laugh at themselves?

I think some people don't understand the humor here. The show in general is a parody of a local low budget show-hence the set, music and graphics (with misspellings and 1989s font). It is supposed to be awkward and uncomfortable-that's part of the joke.

Does anyone remember the Seth Meyers White House correspondents dinner where he poked fun at Trump and Trymo just sat and glared the whole time? If looks could kill! There's a man incapable of laughing at himself.

I don't belong to either party and I find that first line ridiculous. The last republican president that didn't have a sense of humor was Nixon.

As for her appearing on this program, for me it isn't about the humor, it's about the office. As I mentioned in a previous post this is pandering for votes. And if you were running for some low level office then fine.

We have stopped expecting our leaders to have a certain quality that all great leaders have.

Dignity. Leadership. Integrity. Honor. And most important, it's about our nation and what's important in the present and planning for the future. It shouldn't be about self interest or even the party you are a member of. It isn't about power, it's about the weight and responsibility of that power.

There have been many studies on this that would refute your theory. Even Lorne Michaels and Jay Leno say that Republicans are more likely to laugh at themselves.

Chill, bro. It's just a show.

Yes, the Republican nominee embodies these traits so well.

I was embarrassed for her.
With all the talented and experienced people around her, I would think they could help her portray a more personable persona.
SHe has a lot of work to do!

Maybe she needs to go on wwe raw?

+1 She looks exactly like a grandmother trying to be cool. Unfortunately it does not work for her. It was very forced, and she looked irritated. People who wonder why no news conferences/ public appearances wonder why she chose THIS to be all serious about herself. She is not funny. She comes across as someone who shows up at a place that is very ironic and hip and read the "list of small infractions" that no one wants to hear. Bad choice. You can spin it any way you want, but in this she is not funny, and certainly not light, hip, or ironic.

I always thought anecdotally that republicans have a crap sense of humor, but this thread confirms it

I thought it was hilarious! I loved her steely expression. I think she should just wear that face at all times. The "the worst part of this interview is I have to talk to this idiot" face.

This is what happens when politicians are forced to think on their feet and go off script.

Note, the "debates", which are supposed to show how well they think on their feet, will be noting of the sort. Instead, modern "debates" soon devolve into a recitation of talking points.

Guess you missed the point that I wasn't referring to the show as anything more than a small part of the whole.

Your partisanship is showing if you assumed I was critiquing her. Beyond the first paragraph it was about leadership and how our nation has accepted less than we should. In my opinion neither candidate fits the qualities that I laid out.
