That was literally the joke and she nailed it. Watch the episode with Jon Hamm, who is hilarious. He comes across the exact same way as Hillary. That's the joke.

I don't know that it was the best decision, but she knew exactly what was getting into and agreed to it and the script.

Some of you are missing the point. The show and the host set the whole thing up so that Hillary could be herself and it would be funny. If she had been laid back, relaxed, and cracking a bunch of jokes, it would have missed. She did exactly what she was supposed to do, which is why it worked.
