We live in Chevy Chase MD and both work in Georgetown - 5 minute walk to Bethesda metro then a quick ride.

Even driving it is around 30 minutes -- 20 during off times

NP here. Don't get your post. A lot of people live in neighborhoods near the CCT (brookmont, palisades, glen echo heights) and bike in to georgetown or beyond. what's cute?

Depends where in Georgetown. If you are talking about the university and main campus (not offices on Wisconsin) the commute from the western edge of Bethesda is reasonable. If you have to go to the eastern part of Georgetown it will take you a good bit longer to cut across.
