You seriously wouldn't mind leaking milk on your shirt and having your distended nipples showing in public? Wow.
Ok but if you're nursing, don't you need nursing pads? I was so leaky, I had to wear a bra to hold the pads in.
I am only leaky for the first couple months.
I'm a 40G and I hate wearing bras. I wear soft sleep bras most of the time, but if I'm just running quick errands I'll go out with just a tank top with a small shelf under my shirt.
I could never do it but I didn't nurse do I might have felt differently. I wear a bra at all times, even to sleep.
Who cares so long as you are wearing an opaque shirt?

I think if you're not getting out of your car, then it's fine in a drive through if you toss on a sweater or something. Same with opening the door for pizza delivery. Obviously nobody should wear a bra when they're at home, among immediate family.
But if your kids are having friends over, or you'll be going to someone's home or a place of business, holster up. |
Please do not.
I am an A cup and go braless in the summer. I wear very lose clothing, with a lot of pattern so you can't tell as much. I could care less what others think. However, I will say that going braless for the whole day does seem to sometimes make my nipples sore. I think it's the fabric rubbing against it.
+1 If you MUST, at least put on a bra around your husbands nephew. |

Haven't had the option to go bra less in public since...well, since I sprouted C/D cups at 16.
It's painful. I wear two bras when I exercise and I stick to low impact workouts mostly. I have nursed three babies and was more comfortable wearing a messy, stretchy bra to sleep. Now, however, the only time I'm "free" is at night or in the privacy of my house and even then, if anyone in my family will be around, I throw on a giant sweatshirt. I will confess to going bra less on a hectic day just to run carpool, but again, I'm wearing a big coat or sweatshirt. If you are tiny and petite, by all means, go bra less. Can't stand to see pubescent girls who need a bra not wear at least a tank, though. |
Messy=meshy
Do it, OP. I go braless frequently when I'm nursing, except at work. I just make sure I have two layers on, which is how I nurse anyway — top layer pull up and bottom layer pull down to access boob. Yanking my bras up or down all the time ruins them and I don't have hundreds of bucks for new bras.
You do you. I'd make sure you have an opaque shirt and it's not that super thin cotton/jersey that clings to everything, but otherwise, who cares what the Dunkin Donuts drive thru guy thinks? I'm sure he sees much worse. Most people aren't paying that much attention to you as you go about your life.
eh, if people can tell that your braless it isn't appropriate for public.
