If money was no object and you had 2 weeks, two teenage DD, and husband, where would you go?

Cape Town and safari in Botswana, with stops at Jack's Camp and Victoria Falls - perfect trip.

Or Riga and other Northern European places that aren't totally touristed out yet.

On iceland air from US you can add a stop for a few days - I think 2 weeks in just iceland might be much but a few days looks intriguing.

Since you said that actually money was a factor, can I recommend this which is an amazing place and a decent price:

I'm confused by you saying money is no object and then saying it is an object.

If it's truly not, Australia.

If it truly is, Hawaii.

I would do New Zealand or Australia with a week in Tahiti or the Cooks Island. It's easy to do. Most carriers will let you stop off at the islands on the way to or from NZ or Au.

I would absolutely do a safari.

Get on the Abercrombie & Kent website and start dreaming.

Omg

Why did I even do this to myself?!?

I agree with Abercrombie and Kent safari. I've already done Bostwana/South Africa/Victoria falls and it was amazing. I think that teen kids would probably love the tented Hemmingway style safaris that they have there.

If that isn't your cup of tea, maybe do one of their tours of the Galapagos.

I was confused as well, but after I re-read it, I think she was looking for ideas for brainstorming for next year.

Depending on their budget, I'd really look into Iceland (possibly combined with UK) or a national park destination (fly "out west" and then do road trip among various NPs.) Could do some time in cities. If you've seen the movie "National Park Adventure" at Museum of Natural History, you'd get some good ideas.

UK, Italy. When you are paying for four people it really adds up. You are talking $20K for either of those places for a comfortable vacation. If you are planning on $50K, then the Asia vacation. 24 hours on a plane is also tough for those Asiatic trips. Like India. But I don't like 2 star in foreign countries.

And even in the a/c everything is damp.

We have passports and would prefer to do something over next summer break. DD are 11 and 14

Check out REI family adventures for more ideas too.

You could rent an RV and see the National Parks.
