Montgomery County police said Wednesday that after investigating a report about a suspicious man attempting to pick up two young boys as they played outside their Chevy Chase home, they have not found evidence to indicate the incident was an attempted abduction.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and they have re-interviewed the boys, who are 4 and 7 years old and the only known witnesses. As of now, officers have not found “credible information” that would leave them to believe a man was attempting to kidnap the boys and “many details remain unconfirmed,” police said.

According to an account of the incident posted to a local listserv, the boys were playing outside on Colston Drive in Chevy Chase on the morning of March 11 when a man in a vehicle asked them if they wanted a ride to school. The boys did not accept the offer and ran inside to tell their mother, who then called police.

This is such a sad state of affairs. I offered our neighbor's kids a ride home from school as I was picking up my kids, and we pass right by their house on the way home. Kids are older ES/MS age. They know us. But yea, now, I guess I won't ever do this again. But, it really is so sad that this is what it comes down to.

I think if the children are friends of your kids, it's a different situation.

South Arlington. 11 days ago the guy that tried to get boy and girl (8, 11) to go home with him. 8th RD South. The girl told police the man has been watching her on three different occasions.

There was an incident at NCS a few weeks ago too. Man driving a car tried to get a student to come to his car. All Close parents got an emergency email.

I just got an alert from Arlington police on my listserve that a guy in a blue truck tried to get 3 kids (8-11) to get in his truck last night while they were playing hide and seek. Yorktown HS neighborhood.

I know. The other day I saw a kid miss his bus. Well I have two young kids in my backseat, and I know I'm driving by his school since I was taking my DD to school...wish I could have offered to give him a ride. Instead he had to run home and piss off his parents.

All of these sick people...the problem is caused by porn. They get into "innocent/normal" porn, get addicted. And then they need more and more and creeper things to get off to.

Child pornography is proliferating because of addiction. Keep your kids away from any, so they don't go down this path. I know someone affected by this right now. Claims it was downloaded by an accident as part of a huge download. I could believe it though. Well now the fbi is involved, and this person is so despressed their life is on hold.
