Lena Dunham isn't that talented

She is very funny as a writer and performer. And she is a success. She is also young and female so of course she is going to be attacked mostly by other women who are none of these things

God forbid one of th PPs less than traditionally beautiful daughters wants to be a tv writer and has a mind of her own.

I am 33 and really enjoy anything she touches. Been married and a mom for quite some time now but she still resonates and entertains.

I get that she might not be your cup of tea but I don't get the outrage. She's provocative but not so much that I find her offensive or terribly groundbreaking.

Everyone who likes her says "oh god forbid someone less than perfect looking blah blah blerg". The fact is she is disgusting. Revolting. Says a lot about her fan base in my opinion

I'm a fan of "Girls," and I find Hannah's character to be very funny - sometimes. What I don't like is Lena Dunham's need to take her clothes off in virtually every scene. I'd feel that way regardless of how she looks - it's completely unnecessary and feels gratuitous.

Those posters claiming other women don't like her because she's "not conventionally attractive" are blowing smoke. She's unlikable because, well, she's not likable. I'm not sure how hard that is to understand, but from my POV it has a lot less to do with her looks and far more to do with her attitude.

I never liked Girls but it was written for me and that's OK. I think the criticism of her is outsized and based in sexism. If you don't like her or her work, don't look.

But aside from Being female, she isn't very talented. Her writing borders on poor and subpar, her acting is just her acting as herself and taking her clothes off in every shot. Her stories are juvenile and vapid. She thinks it's deep or profound to present young women in unflattering and messy ways. I just can't even. So over her.

Couldn't disagree more. I think she's a very good writer with smart ideas and an excellent work ethic. I love her.

I agree, I thought it was excellent.

People don't like Lena because she's unapologetic and not conventionally attractive. Sexism at its finest.

If she were physically attractive you would all be singing a different tune. It's her character that is offensive. Her writing is phenomenal. I agree the nudity etc. really brings down her appeal, but I can't believe that she doesn't understand that. She just made the choice consciously.

While I find Hannah unlikable at times (because she's written that way and it's on purpose), I find Lena so likable. She takes more shit than any other celebrity her age that I can think of and she manages to keep her sense of humor and rise above it. What about her attitude bothers you? She's all positivity from what I can see.

She needs to do a year of insanity or heart disease

i got turned off after all the naked scenes. Seems like a turn narcissists to me. Please don't compare her to Roseanne.

This is kind of the whole point. If you don't get it, it's going over your head. That's ok.

Do people not understand that Lena Dunham is not Hannah Horvath? The character Hannah can't do what Lena is actually doing. That's the point.
