Ha, what? Do you not understand that these people are not blood relatives? Think of it this way: it's exactly the same as if two men who are brothers marry two women who are sisters.

So you think marrying your uncle's wife (and I fully understand this is not incest) is good for family harmony? That this is "okay" for a family, and life just goes on? Are you nuts? Do you think incest is the only issue at stake here?

OP is talking about the SISTER of the uncle's wife.

You don't know that. That's the supposition of another poster.

OP responded to say that, yes, he is referring to his uncle's wife when he says "aunt". And in both the thread title and the original post, OP is speaking about the sister of that aunt. So, the sister of his uncle's wife.

But I love that you're doubling down on your inability to read the thread correctly.

So your uncle becomes a brother in law. So weird haha. Unconventional but not impossible

OP needs to learn a bit of English before commenting on DCUM and making our heads spin...

I found it pretty easy to understand. Not sure what people are getting confused about...

That's what I thought- kind of weird or maybe old school but not shattering. I actually know a set of brothers who married sisters in my hometown. They are in their late 40s, own a diner, they seem happy all together.

So, the sister of someone you aren't biologically related to? Yeah, I don't see a problem with that. It was really not all that uncommon for brothers from one family to marry sisters from another family, and this seems even more removed.

My aunt's sister is my mother, so no.

+1. My thoughts, exactly

If she isn't a blood relation, I say fine, though a bit bizarre.

If you're ready to marry, you've been together a while, right?
Anonymous
Not weird at all in my mind.

It's truly fine. The only problem might be if your family is uptight about it. I agree that it's not much different than if two brothers marry two sisters, which has happened in my family twice.
