We usually have a family member watch our dogs so the mail is taken care of too.
Or we ask a neighbor to get the mail and check the house (if there was a big storm). We've had mail hold trouble before. Never get some mail and it takes months to get it working again. Sorry, USPS sucks. |
| Our next door neighbors. We stop the mail. |
| The concierge |
| No one really. We stop the mail and tell neighbors were are going out of town in case anything shows up on our doorstep. Don't have anything inside that requires major attention. Our plants are hearty and can go 2 weeks without water. |
| House sitters. |

Cat sitter.

We stop the paper and put a hold on mail, but ask one of our neighbors to collect any flyers. Some weeks we get no flyers. Others we get a ton. We typically control delivery on the packages (that is... we don't order stuff to be delivered while we're away), but our neighbors gladly pick up packages if we know something is coming in. It's really not a big deal to ask a neighbor. We all reach out to the "village" for help. |

No one. We hold the mail.
I have my outdoor lights outfitted with bulbs that turn on at night and off during the day. And I keep a lamp on a random timer inside the house. I live in a really safe neighborhood. I wouldn't hesitate to tell neighbors though. |
| We also stop the mail but have a neighbor look out for flyers, stray packages and that annoying free newspaper nobody wants. We do the same for them. |
| We have a pet sitter for the cat, fish and gerbils, and that sitter will also pick up the mail and the newspapers every day. |
| Our housekeeper. |
| We stop the mail and newspaper, but the newspaper actually stopping is far from guaranteed. We have awesome neighbors who pick them up in that case, and used to dogsit our dog as well (when we had a dog.). |
| Next door neighbor will pick up mail and water the outdoor plants for us. We've done cat sitting for friends, one of us drives over once a day to pet & feed the kitty & check on things. |
| Dog sitter stays over and takes care of the mail, feeds the fish, etc. |
