Why do DCUMs always need to tell you that her child has a high IQ?

Even more annoying is the parent who manages to incorporate their G&T kid into EVERY topic/conversation. Sheesh.

"The young reading thing doesn't irk me. All it means is that the parents have invested a lot of time in that area."

More dumbass bragging. It can mean a number of different things. What is the definition of "young reading" for the DCUMs?

I wonder if these children IQ scores are really as high as the parents say. Scoring in the 99.9 precentile really does say anything, because that is still a range from gifted to profoundly gifted. Truly it is nothing to brag about. And it is extremely hard to raise these children.

More unnecessary mom-bashing. Is that your favorite thing to do?

I truly believe that some testers fudge the scores up. They want to please the parents. So the 99.9% might really be a 92%. Who cares? The schools will never catch on, but the parents will be happy.

They post their kids' scores so that they can get bashed, just like people with high HHIs, good jobs, husbands who don't cheat, etc.

Actually, the schools have caught on.

If someone bothered and took the time to apply/pay/research/jump through hoops/get accepted to certain schools, It is HIGHLY improbable they would refuse acceptance! What they are saying is "we didn't get accepted, and BOY are we sour grapes". It's pretty obvious.

We know people who do this with everything. The same people apply to extension programs of certain schools just to say they "went" there (they didn't, they gave them money in exchange for a certificate program to say they went there). Like parent, like kid.

Or basically, have to have everything they *think* other people have. And then they wonder why they are not happy!?!?

It's probably the same people who deny and deflect on this board. It's an area of whiners. Just because you don't hear them, doesn't mean it's not happening. Flame away.

I like this theory! It makes sense of everything. And I used to think this place was just dysfunctional....

"More unnecessary mom-bashing. "

STFU all of the time about your kids and it will cease to be necessary.

I am sorry, having a DH that does not cheat is a basis for to boasting (and fodder for bashing)? That is a pretty low bar.

I would have to agree on that one.

Maybe I should say "husbands who would never cheat." You should see the posts attacking people who make that claim.

How do they know their DHs don't cheat?
