Does Peyton also need to grow up? Because he ran off the field without shaking anyone's hand after losing to the Saints. |
The problem is that he acted like an ass when winning (dabbing, superman, selfies on sideline with game still going on) and then acted like a sore loser when he lost.
I have no sympathy for him and he acted like a petty little kid when he got grilled on his poor performance. Man up. |
I hate this guy as much as I hate Manziel. Both are jerks! |
The NFL, as well as other pro sports, has a long list of jerks. Both black and white. |
The whole crackdown on celebrations was, in my view, perilously close to being racist. |
+100000000 And Cam walked off after standing there listening to Chris Harris hurl insults at him. He did not react, he walked away! You callCam am immature jerk, but you cannot even take someone's comment on an anonymous Internet forum. Miss me with the bs. |

There is no racism. If you're going to dab or wear a superman shirt that is absolutely your right. But you don't get to have it both ways. You cant rub it in someone else's face when you win and then pout and run away when you lose.
Manning as much as I hate him doesn't taunt anyone on the field. He was given a pass because most of the time he is a class act and takes the criticism even if he wants to go home. Load the box, force y’all to throw the ball. Can you throw the football?” Harris is heard saying from his press conference. “That was the game plan.” That wasn't an insult and it wasn't hurled at him. It was overheard from an adjacent interview. And seriously, that's going to make you get up and run away ? Man up, Superman |
Sure he had reason to sit there. He's a professional athlete. He is paid millions not just to play football, but to do everything else that comes with being a professional athlete - and that certainly includes press conferences. |
I'm whiter than a blank page and can't speak for everyone like myself but he could have done a better job. See Russell Wilson after blowing it against Patriots in last year's SB. However, judging someone after that kind of letdown is silly. The guy is human and had a bad reaction to a severe disappointment. It doesn't matter how much money we make etc. Cut the kid a break for crying out loud. The hoodie up there in his Foxboro Lab does this even when he wins. |
It's not just after the SB. He's been acting like a jerk all season. |
Agree, and the reporters sound like they were writing for a HS paper. I mean, really. Come up with something original. *asks totally inane question* *interviewee responds flatly "no."* *what a jerk!* |
Expectations are different for egomaniacal showboats. |
This is the explanation for Belichick's behavior at most press conferences. He has no tolerance for questions he considers inane, and he is not afraid to show his disdain. He also makes it a point to reveal as little information as possible about his team. This means he is not particularly likable. He is not a sore loser, though. He has exactly the same demeanor in victory as he does in defeat. Cam Newton is exuberant when he wins (and why shouldn't he be?), so the contrast was particularly striking when he was so terse in defeat. I think he should have handled the situation more graciously - other Super Bowl losers manage it every year - but it doesn't strike me as a particularly big deal. Most of us probably would not want to be judged in moments of great disappointment. He'll learn from this and do better next time. I do think there is some latent racism in the NFL, as in most other aspects of American life. I'm not sure that this is a good example of it, though. |
Please read or reread The Boy Who Cried Wolf. You lose credibility fast when you attribute everything to oh yeah it's racism! |
