Hope all you knee jerkers have since learned that Cam's presser was so near a Bronco's presser that Cam could hear all the insults from the Broncos player. Cam did his duty and left without making a scene. Who wants to stay around and be insulted?
Agree, and the reporters sound like they were writing for a HS paper. I mean, really. Come up with something original. *asks totally inane question* *interviewee responds flatly "no."* *what a jerk!*
This is the explanation for Belichick's behavior at most press conferences. He has no tolerance for questions he considers inane, and he is not afraid to show his disdain. He also makes it a point to reveal as little information as possible about his team. This means he is not particularly likable. He is not a sore loser, though. He has exactly the same demeanor in victory as he does in defeat. Cam Newton is exuberant when he wins (and why shouldn't he be?), so the contrast was particularly striking when he was so terse in defeat. I think he should have handled the situation more graciously - other Super Bowl losers manage it every year - but it doesn't strike me as a particularly big deal. Most of us probably would not want to be judged in moments of great disappointment. He'll learn from this and do better next time. I do think there is some latent racism in the NFL, as in most other aspects of American life. I'm not sure that this is a good example of it, though.
