Diet shake recommendation (for meal replacement)

I know, I've been there. However, in my new job, I HAVE to pack a lunch. I have no option to leave or grab something else because I don't want what I brought. I have been making sandwiches, hummus and pretzels/veg, applesauce with cinnamon. I don't necessarily want that meal, but it's not bad for me and it fills me up. I suggest just trying packing your lunch for one week and eating it before your actual lunchtime to fill you up. That way, you will not WANT to go out to the food trucks, but maybe read a book or peruse DCUM, instead.

It really has nothing to do with that and a lot more to do with being in a rush and frequently forgetting what I packed or getting tied up with the baby and crashing before I make it. It's just not my strong suit but thanks again for the advice unrelated to the question I asked.

Thanks

Would a protein bar work for you OP? Or do you only want the powder?

I'm just not doing it. I'm saying I will but forget all the time and then end up getting lunch out. At what point would it be acceptable to you all for me to admit this isn't my strong suit and look at other options. I just want to drop 10-15 pounds I'm not trying to go crazy, this is a short term effort. And an attempt to break my desire for lunches out by breaking the habit.

Thank you to those who were helpful.

Has anyone tried ideal shake? Someone IRL recommended

DH's cousin and his wife lost a ton of weight using ideal shake--120 lbs between them.

I've been researching the Vega protein powders. I tried Shakeology and wanted to gag.

I saw those at WF and they have Stevia too.

I don't even like sweet things! Just skip the sweet!

I heard that it was good to avoid bars because they usually have excess sugar. Do you know of any good ones? I'd love to be able to stock up my office for an emergency healthy snack.

The only bar I ever get is Pure Protein. It has 20g of protein for 200 calories. I frequently eat one for breakfast.

OP, I'm the one that asked if you could eat protein bars and I agree with the poster above about the Pure Protein. They are good, low in sugar and a little to high in carbs (for me anyway) but you will be full for a good 2 -3 hrs. I also eat Power Crunch bars but they are more expensive for me.

I have a case of GNC Lean in my office. Not necessarily for weight loss but because I was often too busy for lunch. But they are designed for weight loss. I like the banana and vanilla ones. About 180-200 calories, 25g protein.

There are a couple of Kind bars that are low in sugar (5g), and they taste great. But they're not big enough to be a meal replacement, they're too low in calories. Check one out though, and see if it'll work for you.

These are two of the 5g bars - caramel and sea salt:

Dark chocolate nuts and sea salt: http://www.kindsnacks.com/store/types/nuts-spices/dark-chocolate-nuts-sea-salt.html
(200 calories, 6g pat, 15g fat which makes it filling)

I get mine from Yes! organic market but they are available in many stores throughout the DC area.

OP, I am right there with you, with trying to lose a little of the baby weight, not packing lunches (for whatever reason), and wanting to find a shake replacement. I had this same question. All the shakes I see have artificial sweeteners or ingredients that I don't understand. [As an aside, those Pure Protein bars didn't work for me pre-baby. I could power through 2-3 of them and then still be very hungry. YMMV.]

What does this have to do with sports and fitness?

Where's all this hate coming from? OP asked a simple question and if you can't provide an answer as it relates to her question then stay out of the thread. Jeez.

This made me want to throw up and made me constipated.
