You all want perfect behavior from teens yet you can't even control yourselves enough to keep a thread open.

Funny that you think not wanting teens to beat the shit out of an innocent person is "perfect behavior".

I am interesting in one thing - the initial reports said 12 teens. A later report said 2. Why the giant discrepancy?

Article said "three were stopped".

It was a disgusting attack. I hope those "kids" go to a real prison.

No one here cares about that. Jail the thugs! Because jails work so well to prevent crime!

The point is this is supposed to be a well educated crowd yet your self control is sorely lacking.

The reporting on the story is not the best. Apparently there was another attack this year, which was brutal : a young disabled man came to the aid of a 14 year old who was being robbed on the train - and then the young man was brutally beaten and kicked over the course of four metro stops, before others finally were able to stop the train. All teenagers scattered (one of the initial attackers was female).... And ....no further news.

What the heck is wrong with these young people???

What is there to talk about if you ban race talk? We all know what happened, there haven't been further details. Now it's just about how did it and wtf is wrong with them.

I really believe jail just hardens these young men and solidifies the trajectory that they're already on. Then they get released and have street cred for having served time, and are more of a problem to society because they can't get a job with a record. And so their spiral downward into a life of a crime continues.

Exactly. Hence, my sarcasm. No one here has answers. Nor do they want them.

Ok what do you propose we do with violent criminals?

For folks like me who ride the red line and want to know how not to get murdered or maimed on their commute, leave your train car immediately if a gaggle of loud black teenagers ignoring all rules of decorum boards. Carry on.
