| Because your school system probably announces week-long closures when the weather girl on the teevee utters the word "flurries." |
| Because it isn't a holiday and you aren't required to travel. |
This. Or in FCPS due to cold weather. Not snow or ice. Just cold. |
rain too and hurricanes |
Wow, bitchy much? |
| I wish FCPS would do what ACPS does. I guess everything really is better in 22201. |
| PWCS is closed on Wednesday. In previous years they've done a half day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but this year they are closed entirely. |
| So Loudon, APS and ACPS are closed on Wednesday. Where are you, OP? Fwiw, APS has 2 full weeks off at Christmas too-- 12/19-1/3. |
APS is a 22201 zip code, not ACPS. |
| 22204? |
| The 2 hour thing is stupid. Open or closed, I don't care, but half days are the worst of all worlds. |
Also Arlington, south of Rt 50. I think it's one of those days that they know lots of kids will be gone, but it isn't a federal holiday and you have to account for snow days. But, like PPs said, if it were closed Wed you'd have people wondering why they can't be closed Tues or the whole week. |
| I think it's opened because the school knows that I need to pack for our trip without the kids around. |
A Silver Lining! |
WTF?! |
