I might wear a shirt naming my parish. It's all a mess. What do you suggest?

Order a "Pope" halloween costume off amazon and make hubby wear it.

What would an example of rational fear be? I assume it would be an objective instead of a subjective test?

There's too much anti-Catholic bias out there.

Are you saying it's rational to think that someone reading the news on their phone while the plane is on the ground (which EVERYONE is doing now, especially now that they allow electronics to be used) is a threat?

My husband is a Syrian Jew and is used to extra security. He likes it.

That said, this is dumb. Glad they were good sports about it.

TSA is a disaster.

Exactly what do you suggest??

not pp, but gun control would be a nice start

Because the criminals are going to turn in their guns.

Says every NRA lackey.

You are the reason why children die at school. No balls to stand up and do the right thing.

Uhh...no. You referred to irrational fear. That suggests that there could be rational fears. Just wondering what an example would be. If you can't provide one, that's ok.

Is that how painful the truth is? How will you respond when a crazy shoots at your kids? Run away?

Exactly. Which is why we need serious gun control requiring people to take safety classes and get a license before buying a gun. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Then let's start cracking some Confederate-flag-wearing eggs based on the concern that they might be the next Dylann Roof.

It's not that difficult. Let's say the attacks on planes or via plane were "common", than it would be a rational fear. But they are not, and I doubt the person that complained even knew what religion these people were besides an assumption based on complexion.

Worrying about developing preeclampsia during pregnancy because 3-5% (fairly high) of woman do? Rational fear.
Worrying about you child because you just found out they are in a theatre that has a gunman inside? Rational fear.
Not letting your child go to the movies because of a couple attacks on theaters around the country? Irrational fear.

It really depends on the numbers and how you interpret them, which is why some people just fear everything because for them "any chance" to too great.

A reporter who was on the flight, Suzanne Kennedy, tweeted this from the plane:

Woman got up and went to back of plane w/child as plane was taxiing. Then aircraft called back to gate. Plane being held at gate

Kennedy co-authored one of the articles to which I linked. However, she doesn't mention this in her article and no child is mentioned as being among the passengers removed from the plane. My guess is that the woman and child she tweeted about where not among those removed. Otherwise, you are correct, the moving about the aircraft would be the "suspicious activity".
