Homeland - New Season

Anonymous
We've watched Homeland from beginning and it's crazy just how the characters and the story lines have changed since the beginning.

Alison needs to be shut down and fast. I love Claire Daines. Why do people find her difficult to watch? I can't imagine Carrie as anyone else.

What are your predictions for next week?

-After leaving the hospital, Alison disappears and goes into hiding. Hate her. She needs to go anyway
-Carrie stops the attack. Gas is contained, but terrorists get desperate and people die somehow anyway
-Quinn wakes up (i'm hopeful). Don't kill off Quinn!!

I also found it mostly unbelievable that Carrie had to stay in Beirut "to figure out" what's going on. I get that she was getting a high off being in the thick of it, so maybe it was just poorly acted, I don't know, seemed unrealistic.

It's ALL unrealistic. I love how they all have their iPhones on them in a SCIF.

Why? Snowden had one in Hawaii--I wish we were more careful than that but we aren't.

I don't understand how Alison was given so much leeway and power when she had just been suspected of being a traitor the week before and was in "lockdown". And now everyone just believes that she is telling the truth? Except Saul of course.

I don't like Alison - her swishy hair bothers me!

To say Dar dropped the ball on Allison is a huge understatement. One little guard? Seriously? Confine her to a room, let her make monitored phone calls. Done. Less damage would've been done as Saul would've followed Carrie's lead on where the gas was going to be released.

Allison is going to seek refuge with the Russians. I love to hate her though. What a great actress! She adds a great element to the show and I hope they keep her.

That said, I was really surprised she didn't try to redeem herself by going to Dar or Saul and confessing. Better to be convicted of treason and sit in a US prison than to be left to the Russians to figure out what to do with her when they've used her up She has already been told that she's expendable and that she is no longer trusted by them. And if she thinks they're really going to give her the millions they promised her, ha!!

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pentagon decides to "rescue" her only so they can grill her about all the Russian intel she has. And in exchange for all the secrets, they will agree to change her identity. If not she might as well kill herself before the Russians do!

Claire Daines is not hard to watch, I totally agree with you PP. I don't get where all of the vitriol is coming from - i think she's great as Carrie and cannot imagine anyone else the part.

Quinn has got to live, but they have to him come back as permanently physically/medically "injured" otherwise its just not at all believable. For christ's sake he was spitting up chunks of his lungs!

And next week is the season Finale - gah!!!

Really? I liked it. I was glad the sarin situation concluded early enough in the program that they could spend more time wrapping up other loose ends.

I had a feeling Otto wanted Carrie for her himself because it was too odd the way he discouraged Johannes (or whatever his name is) from sticking by her.
I wish Allison lived like no enough to see Saul open the trunk and know it was him that had her killed.

I love Carrie. She is FEARLESS!

Ok, the "I want a life partner" thing with Otto was weird.

Any insights as to what was happening with Carrie at the end? She was going to shut off his machine or whatever but then became distracted by a bright light? So is he dead(?).

So, what do you think? Is that it? Will there be another season? It's hard to imagine where the show could go next.
Anonymous
Carrie goes to Quinn to kill him off because that's what he would have wanted. The bright light is death taking him. Or is it a divine intervention and a miraculous healing . . . . tune in next season.

Dear still didn't believe Saul, and gave Allison the benefit of doubt. He wanted to believe Allison. I guess that's why he is on his way back to the states and Saul remains in Berlin.

Dar, not Dear.

I think Otto is a Russian spy trying to recruit Carrie. Didn't the Russians control/capture his estate during WWII? Maybe they persuaded his family to join them.

I liked the finale. Got teary over the Quinn scene. Hope he comes back for a miraculous recovery, love him! I think Allison got off easy. I wanted to see her face when she knew she was busted.

I don't know that this is what is up with Otto but I definitely don't trust him. Must Carrie always have some older guy protecting/mentoring her?
