| With the small about of batter on beaters, I don't worry about illness. Me, on the other hand...my spoon goes directly into the batter! I survived eating raw hamburger meat when I was a kid (rolled in salt, no less); not much fear over a little raw egg. |

| Never. Salmonella is in most eggs - even pasture raised organic ones! In an ER doctor and have seen a ton of salmonella diarrhea and just enough cases of salmonella blood infections and complications to freak me out about letting my kids do this.... |

Yes.
Actually I very rarely use a beater to make things (I do more cookie baking than cakes) but I let my kids lick the spoon/scrape the bowl when I make cookies. |
