| I hope the person who said cigarettes was kidding. I can't imagine sending those with my kindergartner! Shame on you. |
I agree. I do give her some wine coolers, though. The kids love those colors! |
Seriously. Wait until your kid is in 1st, at least. |
| Will the butlers carry in the backpacks for the new Somerset kindergartners? |
| We usually take the supplies to the open house at the school before the first day, and so there's not much to bring on Day 1 aside from the lunch, a sweatshirt in case it's cold in the classroom (depends on the A/C situation), and a change of clothes for a K kid. |
| People keep mentioning a change of clothes for K kids...is this something that goes in their backpack every day or will it be stored in the classroom somewhere (it was for my son's prek)? I just can imagine him lugging around a change of clothes each day. |
| My kids never had extra clothes in K (or were asked to bring them). I think the school keeps some if the unexpected happens. I would only do this if your child is really likely to need them. |
No, K is fine with some bendy straws. |
| Seriously though - I bought all the supplies, and it seems like a lot to shove into a backpack. Do they need all hundred #2 pencils at school, or do I send a few at a time? |
e sti When my daughter started kindergarten, the list said 18 large glue sticks, and the class had run out of glue sticks by January. That's a lot of gluing. |
| If your kid shows up the first day without 100 sharpened pencils, he or she will be looking at a really tough year. And don't even think of showing up with less than 72 crayons IN EACH COLOR. |
That's for private school. |
| Still waiting for guidance on whether DD will need 100 pencils and 6 glue sticks the first day. HELP. |
Bring it all to open house, or bring in over the first few days. You don't keep the supplies at home to dole out. |
