Count on a whole week of childcare. Your newbie PK3 or PK4 will only be in school on Thursday or Friday of that first week. |
Thanks! Are there even camps in DC that week? DPR, YMCA, others? |
Was the newsletter from your school or from DCPS? I agree with the above poster, it shouldn't be so hard to publish the dates on the web-site. I can't believe it's taking so long. |
|
The correct dates are on the website: http://dcps.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/dcps/publication/attachments/Family%20Letter%20English.pdf |
Yep, it must be last years link, but the staggering is still Thursday and Friday. |
Where in the bowels of the dcps web-site did you find this? |
DCPS is not going to be the place for you. I called and got the info (which I posed already). If you want info from DCPS, you have to seek it out either from central office or the school. Good luck. |
Good luck to you embracing the status quo. I will express my frustration, and do the work to get the improvements I believe in, which will benefit you as well, as you stand on the sidelines clucking at me. |
I predict you will move to the suburbs for K. |
Not correct for PK4 at Lafayette. |
LOL! I just called my school and the front office said it didn't know when the first day would be! You know it's bad when DCUM knows more than your very own school! |
What's Lafayette doing? |
| My daughter's school (Cleveland) is performing home visits Mon-24, Tues-25, Wed-26. Children with last names A-K attend a full day on Thursday-27 and last names L-Z attend a full day on Friday-28. The 1st "official" day for Pre-k 3 & 4 is the 31st. |
Lafayette starts everyone -- PK4 included -- with full days on the first regular day of school (8/24 this year). |
| I wonder when my kid's school will finally release information about the first day. It's like a huge secret or something.... |
