Men: do you notice your wife aging?

Wow, the DH responses on here are awesome. You guys sound like keepers! I'm glad you've found happiness with your (lucky) wives!

He is in his 40s. Now, what one ascribes to that aging might differ according to how much one loves the person. To me, for the most part, my husband is becoming more seasoned and is aging like a fine wine. His belly chub is adorable and his wrinkles make his gaze warmer. When I am annoyed with him, however, I think he he needs a shot of botox and to get to a gym, haha.

Amen!

Her aging is not an issue.
The extra 40 pounds is a MAJOR issue and a complete turn off

Of course I notice. Her aging matches mine, so that we look as matched as we did on our wedding day. If she didn't age, then I'd look like a dirty old man with a trophy wife and I'm not that type of guy. Unfortunately, I have to beg to differ with the PP above. He cannot possibly be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, since I am.

Any of you guys married to older woman?

During my 20s always looked younger than my age, i met my husband when i was 29 and he was 24, the age was never an issue but since i'm now in my late 30s i look my age, i don't look younger anymore i look like a woman in her late 30s, so how do you guys feel about your wives now? Do you regret marrying someone older? Do you wish you married someone your age or younger?

It's tougher to notice someone aging if you see them every day or all the time.

Yet, it still happens.

One day you just take a close look at her & realize she has put on a few lbs. in her middle. Or you notice the crow's feet in her eyes when she smiles at you.

Also, looking back at old pictures can do this as well.

However, if you truly love her, all of these signs just make you love her even more.

my 43 year old bride attends her 25th reunion this month. she weighs the same, looks like she is 30. I few old boyfriends may choke their drink when she walks in

Maybe it is just a natural way to feel good about the aging process, but generally I think men and women become more attractive with age. I love laugh lines around the eyes, salt and pepper (or more salt than pepper) hair, easy relaxed mannerisms that come from being older, having more wisdom, and generally not thinking too much about how others are judging you.

I am 25 pounds more now at 42 than when I married DH/pre-kids, but I have learned to dress myself well, have a great hairdresser, know how to wear makeup, and have a love of life. I get checked out by men way more now than ever.

My DH drives me crazy. He was a slightly overweight, nerdy guy when I married him. 15 years down the road, he is actually thinner than he was and has been hitting the gym. He honestly doesn't look like he has aged in the entire time that I've known him, other than a few flecks of gray. Aside from that it's like he is almost aging in reverse.

I wonder if has something to do with him having been slightly-overweight for many years. Maybe a chubby face deters wrinkles? He's struggled with his weight his whole life.

I met my DH and he was a sloppy beer drinking frat boy. He probably weighed 230. He shot up to nearly 300 after the birth of our 2nd. He has been hitting the gym hard for a few years. He is now a RIPPED 215 and sexy as FUCK. So my DH is hotter than when he was 22. Just the sight of his sculpted shoulders makes me hot.

If you haven’t noticed, women are aging better than men, look at Lisa Hartman, Diane Keyton, Jane Seymour then look at Axl Rose, Mickey Rourke and Al Pacino
It’s men that are looking worse
Society needs to stop brainwashing women into thinking it’s not fair

Agree with pp. In general women age better than men, just ask anyone who's attended a class reunion in their 40s.

Of course they do. Why do you think they cheat with and remarry 20/30 year old’s.

Yeah, but then look at a class reunion with people in their 60s. The men aging poorly are more likely to have died. Meanwhile menopause hits hard. At that point, men are looking better than the women.
