Progesterone impact on cycle

Anonymous
One time when I was taking progesterone in my Luteal phase and it significantly increased my luteal phase length. The next cycle I was not medicated. I ovulated about 5 days earlier than normal (confirmed by clear temp rise). It was like my body's clock for ovulation kept keeping time despite the progesterone delaying when I actually got my period. My whole cycle was short but the one after that was normal. So it may have messed your cycle up a bit but I'd expect your next cycle to be back to normal. Also, this only happened once. I had other cycles on progesterone what did not mess up the ovulation time of my next cycle.

Good luck

Also I had a scare where I passed a lot of tissue, thinking I had yet another miscarriage there was so much and the dr. Thought it was related to the progesterone building up my lining. I know it's supposed to delay a period and lengthen l phase, but they thought I needed it to keep from miscarrying in the 1st trimester. I had Fertile mucus day 7 and 14 ish around the opk positives. My temp went up day 16ishof my cycle, when the bleeding/spottig started. Today the spotting is maybe 3 wipes of quarter size blood the entire day. So not a period but not nothing either. It's everytime I wipe.

Have you had your progesterone levels checked during your pregnancies and during your cycle, post ovulation? (I think day 19 and 21 are the days to test it.) If you have low progesterone you don't want to stop taking your supplement because it's going to help you get pregnant and stay pregnant. If I were you, I'd assume it is low and keep taking the progesterone if your TTC.

My dr said the tests really don't matter. The only way to really know the proper level is a biopsy. Bc they suspect it's contributing to my miscarriages, I was given it. It was up to me to take it or not. So I did right after the last
Miscarriage for 3 cycles, but to me it's made my timing and cycles really wacky, so I skipped this cycle.
Plus I never even made it to 3 or 4 dpo to start.
I was already bleeding. I passed one tiny - super small lice of tissue this am (sorry tmi)
I wonder if my body was trying to get rid of it or something. It's so weird bc I am not cramping at all.
The spotting has basically stopped now.
This last miscarriage I feel like just really did a number on me. They kept saying it was gone, but maybe I did retain slight tiny pieces if tissue.
I do wonder if implantion takes on average 10 days and I had a positive opk 6 days ago, if it's still possible to get pregnant this month.
I think I can only do progesterone if closely monitored to confirm ovulation. At this point I wasn't getting that detailed with monthly visits.

Are you going to an RE or still with an OB? You should have a full workup done with an RE to see if there are any other issues.

And if your HCG level went down to 0, you were not retaining any tissue from the miscarriage.
