We moved only 9 spots -- this is PK3.

pp here - yep! same pk3

That's so strange, does anyone know why these two WL moved different # of spots for the same grade (PK3) and same school? One moved 9 spots and one moved 17?

Thanks for your time everyone!

pp again - very strange indeed.

i was 117 and now 100 - ranked them #2 does that have something to do with it?

No, it doesn't have anything to do with your rankings. See answer above about people taking themselves off the waitlist. They're not all being admitted to DCB; they are going elsewhere.

Press conference is on!

This thread gives me some hope but not much. Our WL spot has moved about 19 spots which doesnt put us super close but I like seeing numbers go down

Someone posted in another string of posts that DCB is adding another class for PK4 onward. This is possible the most painful news since we are in the mid-teens for PK3 and are PRAYING for an additional class for PK3. Does anyone know if this is even true?

23:40 I am right there praying with you. I wonder why they would only do PK4-whatever and not 3, assuming they do it at all.

Maybe to accommodate the current PK3 class at the Amos campus?

I already posted in other thread. It's to accommodate kids from CAPCS which was pk3-1 so for each grade those kids are moving into they are adding an extra class, hence no pk3 bc pk3 doesn't need to absorb any new students.

Ok, that makes sense. Thank you for explaining. So this is confirmed that they are absorbing some of those kids? Are you a current parent? This is really nice of DCB if this is true. Makes me like the school even more.

More like a business decision although most think it was a win-win. This was part of a deal that gave the displaced families an option and got DCB permanent space. Whether those families wanted bilingual education and how many are enrolling will be interesting to see.

They were required to do it to get the property.

Families had the option to go to Friendship or lottery into DCB so we are hoping those that chose to lottery into DCB instead of attending Friendship did it because they want immersion. But yes, it will definitely be a change.
