Anyone know anything about DC Bilingual WL and new location?

Anonymous
Do people know if people are dropping off the school because the new location is not close to the neighborhood where most families are Spanish speaking?

I was wondering the same thing. My PreK3 spot moved 10 spaces but I was assuming that was because of people getting off the waitlist for MV. Can anyone shed some light?

It is a big move, and the families I know there are not moving with the school, and I suspect that there will be a lot more waitlist movement this year because of the move.

There are several Hispanic families that live along Fort Totten Drive and surrounding neighborhoods.

Neither LAMB (South Dakota campus) nor MV are by a large Hispanic population and I think they're doing well.

At one point they mentioned opening an additional classroom for PK3 and PK4 because they were moving to a larger building. Any update?

i moved 17 spots and was wondering if this was unusual. still rather high up on the WL though.

That's so strange, does anyone know why these two WL moved different # of spots for the same grade (PK3) and same school? One moved 9 spots and one moved 17?

Thanks for your time everyone!

9:40 who mentioned opening another classroom and when? This would make me so happy. Any more info on this would be appreciated.

I would think some of the movement people further back on the list are seeing is due to people in the middle taking themselves off the list as they accept spots at other schools.
The closer you are to the top of the list, the less likely you are to be affected.

pp again - very strange indeed.

i was 117 and now 100 - ranked them #2 does that have something to do with it?

At one of the open houses the principal mentioned that it was maybe something they would look into, totally NON COMMITAL so I would feel awful spreading rumors. She was VERY clear that it was just something that could maybe happen since they are moving to more space. I hope!! Wishful thinking here is getting the best of me!
