tacos vs sushi?

Okay, am I the only person who is still trying to figure out why we are even comparing sushi and a taco?

Rice is definitely not a traditional taco filling and Chipotle is not a Mexican restaurant.

This thread is blowing my mind.

I think that OP is either trolling, or maybe just has such an unsophisticated palette that she hasn't had many ethnic foods or things with traditional Mexican (cilantro, lime, cumin) or Japanese (nori, rice vinegar, soy sauce) ingredients before and can't comprehend the distinctions.

We weren't all born into families where we were exposed to these things.

OP - join Pinterest and search for things like "Taco recipe" or "Sushi ingredients" and you'll see more authentic preparations. They are not at all similar, not any more than spaghetti and meatballs and salsa are similar because they both have tomatoes.

I think OP is the same one who asked if Costco quinoa salad was healthy.

OP did you post here bc you think it was trendy?

Stop.

It is not.

Op do you like hot spicy foods?

Why do I love this thread so much? This is hysterical.

Folks who way they like sushi - are you talking about the real sushi (seasoned rice with fish) or the volcano rock n roll spider American sushi?
Anonymous
A food forum troll perhaps? The only similarity between tacos and sushi is that it is stuff with other stuff and you eat it.
Anonymous
Why do some people like pizza not pot roast? What an absurd post, OP.
Anonymous
They are completely different foods, OP. From completely different cultures with different flavors and preparation styles. The existence of rice in both Japanese and Mexican food does not make them comparable.

I don't like fish, but I can tolerate it if it is cooked. If it is raw, no dice. I like vegetarian sushi and would eat tacos every day if I could.

I don't like raw fish but will eat eel rolls.

"Yeah, I love sushi. I always get Edamame and shrimp shuimai to start. Then a California roll..."

Get this straight chipotle is NOT a Mexican restaurant and no, rice is not a traditional taco filling? Are you Hugh because than this thread should make sense?

Are you stupid? because having Mexican relatives I should know a thing or 2 about mexican food! Yes you can put anything you want in your tacos and that includes rice and most mexicans do that.

Here's a picture if you don't believe me

Point is, why do people like sushi? Is it because it is trendy or do people really like the taste of it

OP, just because the people who are trying to sell you shitty rice have a photo of their shitty rice served with something else on their website, does not mean that that is the norm.

Sushi and tacos are both delicious and both food, otherwise they have nothing to do with each other.

Um, yea. I'm a Latina and I grew up in LA with my Mexican grandma making most of our meals. While you could technically put anything on a taco, rice is not traditional, nor is ground beef authentic Mexican taco filling. Also tacos are nothing like sushi. I agree with pp, you must be high.

Wow most of you posters are SO STUPID and most of YOU CAN'T READ or just JUMP into saying stupid mean or insulting comments! READ FIRST DUMBASSES! I SAID "YOU CAN PUT ANYTHING YOU WANT IN YOUR TACOS". I DID NOT SAY RICE WAS TRADITIONAL. THE STOCK PHOTO IS AN EXAMPLE OF A TACO STUFFED WITH RICE! WHO CARES WHERE IT CAME FROM! DAMN are most of you stupid, dumb, or high on legal DC weed! SOOO comparing the 2 WITH rice included since sushi has rice in it and not always either! I just don't see the acquired taste.
